something is off about her right (your left hand )
Depends on the town. My LCS is in a college town, and there are lots of 20 somethings in there buying new books every week. Comics are not dying. Ive been hearing that crap for 30 years.
I like that one. Wonder if Elphaba will get a mole variantâŠ
hopefully thereâll be a Margaret Hamilton variant
JesusâŠ.less than a minute. Really only 200?
He has this one.
That is nice, for me, I am not chasing the store variants though. I saved the picture to my desktop cause I liked the art though.
I feel like these exclusives are jumping the shark nowâŠ.
Come summer every booth will have a Monsters exclusive at consâŠ
$20 price point for 200 limit was niceâŠbut now weâre up to $30 and 250 limit. Itâs the beginning of the end.
At this rate people will be sick of Mark Spears Monsters by January.
Right now collectors are eating it up an. Also, many didnât know about this series until recently. It is always difficult with indi properties as to when they will cool off but man, oh man this whole Monsters stuff seems to just be getting hotter. It could end in flash or keep going. Who knows, but I have a feeling it will go on for a bit longer. I also wouldnât be surprised if this is on the radar of live action studios. They do like to keep an eye on whatâs hot in comics. Mark Spears new Monsterâs Kickstarter âThe Monster and he Wolfâ is also doing very well. It was at 100% funded in roughly 48 hours. Still some cool covers left but I have a feeling all of them will max out long before the 30 days. It was too expensive for me to get every offering, but I did get some.
Interesting how $5 and 50 more copies is the difference between instant sell out and stagnant salesâŠ
I am all for this series, and all for it doing well. I have been ordering the hell out of the books and selling the hell out of them too. I hope it keeps going, but not at a $30 buy in.
They actually didnât sell out of their 2nd print variants either, they have both in stock.
3rd print is a good looking cover and probably a better looking cover than the one that did sell out for $5 cheaper with a smaller print run
This one is like theyâre just taking whatever Mark tossed asideâŠmight as well be titled âDracula poses for comic book coverâŠâ
So far that âGood Witchâ cover is the only store variant I have bought into. Iâm pretty much just buying what standard covers I can pre-order and what is going on now on Kickstarter. So far I have only made good profit. I think even at this point if the hype train starts slowing, I will still be able to make my money back and still keep the covers I like best. Good series, great art and good profit. No complaints yet.
I kept the bride cover and the standard 2nd print
Donât blame you. I kept one of the bride covers for the pc as well. There is a chance that one will always be in demand, even decades from now, Instant classic cover.
Yeah it is. Both sexy and spooky.
I continue to go heavy on these monsters books. At some point, the hype will die. I sense it coming with issue number 3 of the series; however anything to do with issue #1 and #2 will remain mostly relevant as thereâs still some steam left as people are just now getting on the Spears train.
Two things to look forward to in the future are his card sets and his new kickstarter project. Iâm waiting for the cards to explode in value as theyâre pretty rare. And then once his second kickstart comics drop next year, theyâll be another level of interest for his new and older work.
Mark is keeping things exciting for us flippers and collectors which I am certainly thankful for.
