Any spec worthy comics tomorrow for FCBD/CGD?
The Marvel one basically is kicking off the next event, “Avengers: Armageddon,” which I hope is good. Marvel has had an iffy track record with events for a bit now, but Zdarsky is one of two-ish writers over at Marvel (currently) who I really enjoy.
There is a ,“Street Fighter,” comic, I believe. That ties in more with the games than the upcoming movie, though.
I saw there is a special Absolute Batman Volume 1 hardcover that uses Jim Lee’s variant artwork. It doesn’t seem to be popping off online or anything, though.
So…maybe not? Lots of fun stuff to read, though! Plus, some random thing could always take off years later. Look at, “Umbrella Academy,” after all!
UPDATE: For those wondering why I said, “Two-ish,” current Marvel writers, I am referring to Chip Zdarsky, Jed MacKay, and the, “-ish,” stands for Jonathan Hickman who seems to dip in and out of Marvel stuff.

I don’t think I’m participating this year.
Isn’t Dungeon Crawler Carl FCBD the first actual comic for this brand? Well, there was the one issue spin-off last year, but I think this is the first app of Carl and Donut.
There’s a trade paperback coming out this month, but for first app for Carl and Donut, I think it’s this.
I’ll grab the Conan Titan book, as well as SIKTC. But, that’s it for me.

Ya I would say DCC is the big book this year. There are at least 135,200 copies out there based on this carton number.

They were plentiful where I went.
Did any of you spec on the Ghost Machine book that came out this week? I know it is a source book so maybe it isn’t the best spec.
I bought it and will get the set. There is some various cool tidbits of info and foreshadowing stuff.
I won’t get all the covers though.
You know, I’m really impressed with these Magic the Gathering covers. Gut tells me somewhere down the line, these will gain value. At least some of them.

If they come through with a TV show or movie as has been in the news before (Netflix), then they’ll start seeing interest.
I buy the sealed IDW ones with the promo card. Some of them are very hard to find and I just got a good one in that I’ve never seen before so I had to buy

Okay, Unbelievaboy is either going to be the best character or an absolute cringefest.
I also am going to think of the ‘90s EMF song every time Unbelievables comes up.
I think this kicks things off…and comes out 5/27, a week before the guidebook.

regarding Absolute Batman #20 coming out on Wednesday…
from Golden Apple - " We are seeing an Absolute mess with Absolute Batman #20. The book has several spine dings on the cover through out the print run. Other shops are seeing the same issue across the full print run. We are already in contact with the distributor and publisher. This WILL DELAY orders for Absolute Batman #20. We will not begin shipping books until we find out what DC’s solution will be. Once we know we will send an update."

These books are so plentiful on racks lately I just wait until day of release and grab the best copy…and if they’re not 9.8 candidates I hit the next shop or just wait.
Good to know to look for/expect defects this issue.

Also be careful on the cardstock variant covers - the ones with the A cover underneath look good from the outside, but all the A covers inside had the crease.
My entire order was defective.

Definitely a production issue then…if the inner
Cover is damaged and outer cover is clean.
