Yeah, like I’m braving Black Friday crazies this year with all the supply chain shortages and Covid on the rise.
I’ll take my chances with Amazon and USPS.

I just do it all online for the last decade or so.
I don’t shop on Black Friday… nor do I shop on Cyber Monday… I spend time with family and relax most of the time. Shopping for things is the last thing I want to do around Thanksgiving.
Most online sales this year start on Monday it’s real easy just have everything you want already in your cart at target or Walmart when the ad goes live hit checkout pay. Takes a whole 5mins as long as the server holds up to the traffic. The things always out of stock like ps5 Xbox series X consoles you’ll actually have to put in your cart after the ad goes live and hope to get through before the server crashes or they sell out.
My wife and I have been doing Back Friday for the past 10 or so years. We don’t do Thanksgiving…
But we might not do Black Friday this year cuz of Covid. Same as last year
Found this at the LCS. Paid a bit of a premium ($20 after tax) but it’s minty and didn’t want to take a chance on Walmart or Target having damaged ones. Plus it’s abs LCS I buy a lot of “spec” books but don’t have a pull list. So once in a while I pay a little more for something to give them some business.
I think this is her first figure in 3.75” no?
I think so.
Nice set. Do you open any of these? I open most of my toys unless I plan to display later some day. I try to get two of everything. One to open and then save other. I have not opened too many things the past few years. I am just storing them away until I move in a few years. I will have a room just for displaying my collections of things then.
For me, I’m really inconsistent on what I do. With figures I’ll typically leave them carded as I’m a fan of the art and card as much of the toy (if the art is good).
With an item like this, I’ll likely take those 4 out as it’s a waste to not see the cards.
Ships, statues, larger figures, I almost always open and display. At this point in my life I even chuck the boxes. If I like it enough to display, I see no reason to keep an empty box.
The caveat to that is things like the Haslab projects. While they take up space, just too much value in the box.
I certainly keep the idea of value and potential worth in mind, but at the end of the day, I just love toys. Displaying them, handling them, and sharing stories with friends/visitors and that (for me) lends itself to opening as well.
Had a furnace team out last week. Couple of younger fellows. They came up after their work and politely asked if I’d give a tour (I find folks are really more like this in the new home video surveillance days now).
Had a great time showing them around.
@Toy_Maker Of all the collectibles, I’ve found toy soldiers the hardest to display. I just can’t ever seem to find a good, clear, appropriate way to best set up diaramas. I have cabinets, glass cases, but shelves are always based on height vs length.
Any suggestions?
I see a lot of shelf displays for the soldiers. Some use background paintings. W. Britain produces nice affordable background art. There is also foam terrain bases too. I’m looking to produce some foam terrain bases after I retire. I have some WW II Russian front tanks & miniatures. I started some prototype trench pieces. Plus a tank trench. I want to either put that on a table or glass displays case. I was thinking after I retire that I will have tge time and space to do this. A lot of the things I am working on with the 3d printer is accessories like trees, animals, rocks, bushes, etc. These things make the miniatures come to life. Instead of just sitting on a shelf line up.
That is really cool.
I love it, but not a $170 kind of love it…
You buy now, you get the free Easter Chicks set you sell on eBay for $20 to knock the price down…
I scooped this guy up at Target when I found him! The McFarlane Toys team did a GREAT job of re-creating Jason Fabok’s art in plastic. The light up chest piece is awesome and adds a lot to the figure, imo.
Still waiting on J’onn J’onnz and Aquaman to round out my Justice League. Luthor will be my next villain, then I’ll need Grodd, and Todd needs to make a Cheatah and a Black Manta.
Also, I need to unbox my Armored Batman from TDKR but am waiting for the rest of the waive. The Damain Wayne Robin is a replacement for the one I purchased at Amazon and arrived with a busted arm.
I’m kinda disappointed with the Knull figure but at the same time there isn’t a whole lot going on with his design… just feels basic, like Silver Surfer.
Also, Hasbro’s new packaging is a nightmare. Figure swappers are going to have a field day with this. Also going to suck for legitimate consumers who like to look at the figure they are buying to ensure they don’t have paint issues and what not. All for the sake of “environmentalism”, nevermind the fact that they’re made in the country that pollutes the most…
they already did this with some of the new Star Wars figures.
I dont mind it.
