New Variant Ratios on TFAW

Funny that diamond is losing retailer exclusives. That’s a big blow for diamond since there are exactly 6.2 million store variants that come out each month.

@faele does this help your decision?

I just sent PRH an email :joy:

Every single day, Diamond inches a little closer to that “going out of business” doomsday!

Strangely enough Diamond Select Toys will become the dominant arm of their operation. They’ll primarily be distributing Gentle Giant.

Diamond should get the rights to sell exclusively with Sears and K-Mart.

I have fond memories of K-Mart… my grandma loved K-Mart.

I think they will have to scale down significantly, but if they keep Dark Horse and Image, they still should be able to operate. Now, when they lose the other publishers, yah, they are going down.

Things like this happen, and then big names realize the grass isn’t always greener, and things shift back. Never know what could happen.

IDK… I think most will shift to Penguin for Marvel books, particularly if they have the exclusives. I don’t think Dark Horse and Image would be enough to keep them afloat unless they really scaled down their operations to a skeleton type crew.

Diamond orders will be delivered late, every week. Diamond has to order from penguin than diamond has to process orders to lcs. While penguin lcs,s get them without diamond step

Sounds like more chances of Diamond getting damaged copies too… extra shipping = extra time on road = more likely chance they get mishandled.

For sure, more hands = more damage

I may have to Star asking my LCS’s who they will order from…because I may just end my pull if they order from Diamond and they are always frayed/damaged/

Not sure SWBH 12 on move - yet. Prices at or near cover so far. I add multiple of all these covers anyway.

Yeah this is a huge problem for me, because that defect rate passes along to the resellers and we have to spend time sorting through it all…which is $$$$$ that can be spent elsewhere.

Hey @RipCityGamer does Dark Horse send their books to Diamond from the printer, then TFAW orders them from Diamond, and then Diamond delivers (or doesn’t deliver) them to TFAW? Man, I need to look up “middle man” in the encyclopedia and see if the Diamond/Dark Horse/ TFAW relationship pops up in the entry.

I’d imagine the books that TFAW sells that are Dark Horse are sent directly to them to sell. Buying their own books from Diamond seems… backwards…

Right? It’s just the first time I’ve actually thought about it so I asked.

Also consider the few weeks they claimed Diamond shipment didn’t arrive, they said they were processing DC and Dark Horse those weeks… that should tell you they’re likely not getting Dark Horse books from Diamond.

Tfaw listed an Artist B, C, and D variant for X-Men #1 which look to be a 1:25, 1:50, and 1:100, respectively. Do we know who’s doing these covers, yet? Previewsworld doesn’t seem to have anything that matches.
