I dont think the Catwoman 43 was a drop by TFAW. It was probably a drop by a customer before FOC (04/24) for this book. The Sozomaika 44 was already posted by TFAW sometime during the last two weeks. There may be additional orders for this (#44) book (by TFAW), which they may post before its FOC. But this one (#43) I’m sure was not a TFAW drop.
I also wish I knew the timings of the ‘regular’ TFAW drops though; but not all drops PreFOC are by TFAW.
This seems suspicious. I been checking the Catwoman 43 SOZO all day Friday, Sat and then Sunday. The variant listing only appeared after Ralph posted after 6.00PM. Meaning this was only available to the public after 5PM on Sunday. Still this “mystery drop” or “anytime” drop can be quite frustrating. If the FOC is only on Sunday for DC. Shouldn’t TFAW list ALL of the DC instead of Catwoman #43? Lot of contradiction if you spend a moment to think about this.
If someone had it in their cart and dropped it, it will then show as available. Their indexing also sucks, so sometimes if it shows “In Stock”, it might not actually be in stock. It is frustrating but that’s how it goes when consumers have in their pre-orders, holding onto it and then remove for it to then be available at any given time they release. Those types of drops will always be unpredictable and at any given time.
Not suspicious, just the luck of the draw. Not a TFAW authority and did not stay at a Best Western, but what I’ve seen is that TFAW makes preorder drops during the week; WHEN I’m not sure, but sometime in the evenings. After that, the ones dropped on weekdays and especially weekends prior to FOC, are customers who release their preorders. Any drops after post-FOC include cancellations, or extra copies that TFAW lucked into but with a lesser discount. This is not true for all books but for most, based on my observations.
For example, keep an eye out for the Sozomaika #44, because its still pre-FOC. You may find someone dropping their preorder for whatever reason, but the challenge will be to figure out when. TFAW may also add a copy or two based on their preorders of the regular #44, but I would not even hazard a guess on TFAW’s operation. Sozomaika #43 will probably not be offered again unless someone cancels their order and TFAW relists it.
I think agentpoyo also offered some good thoughts on TFAW’s operation.
The Alice Ever After 2 1:25 Marini is actually the Hughes virgin variant.
Missed out on it, but should be available around ratio, because the regular trade-dress is good, as well as its one of Hughes average covers (still better than most !).
This is the same screw-up as with the Shadow War Zone 1 1:25 and 1:50 mixup.
Anyone know why ratios they drop on Mondays (FOC day) are now discounted less than before?
I was always able to get 1:10 for 6.99 (now 8.99), 1:25 17.99 (now 22.49… Bizarre price), and 1:50 34.99 (now 44.99)
