Yes it was a joke. A joke that anything with “Spider” or “Adam Hughes” is spec worthy. This is the market we are in today. Book/Character can worth $$$ with no merit in story telling or impact on the overall storyline or history of their universes. Should I dare say Miles Morales, X-23, Kamala Khan or any of these new characters (Don’t even know the guy in Black Panther 3) will worth $$$ with no memorable story like Civil War, Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One, Watchmen or when Bucky took over for Capt.
Yet, people are treating these characters like athlete that won multiple championship …at best in their current scenario, they made the playoff.
Just a movie appearance, a book can jump at least 3-5 times base on a movie appearance (even if the character dies in the movie). Ridiculous.
Imagine if Marvel did create a sexy character called “Your Mother Spider” drawn by AH and have it as 1:50 incentive. Book will be easy > $100. On a side note, that would be cool character name “Your Mother Spider” comes to the big screen.

This one just popped up. Its a 1:25 for a $10 cover price book and listed at $22 bucks, grabbed one.

The info on “Your Mother Spider” was a parody on how anything related to a “Spider” appearance the book will worth $$$.

Took a chance on this because I thought it was a landmark issue. Has that Molina feel, but probably not going to be rare. I dropped the Miles/Moon Girl 1:25, liked the regular cover better.
I’m pretty sure Batman will be happy soon…
