They saying every trade cover
So with copies already sold on eBay of the trade dress if they choose to reprint and fix, their print runs will be a lie and we will all cancel.
Who is they. And when you say every trade cover do you mean every 1:100 of each trade cover or literally every single issue of each trade exclusive? Regardless, this makes any single cover 1:100 a rarer book.
No every copy of the 3000 trade covers is a double cover and has the 1:100 variant below the trade dressed Codex variant. Not every 100 copies every single copy of the 3000 print run of the trade dress. They don’t print 100 covers then the 1:100 comes out next on the same machine that’s not how comics are printed they print all the same cover at the same time so when they did this if got both covers due to error the whole run for this trade dress exclusive.
They still will have the run of 1:100s this won’t decrease how many of those there is, just add to the print run of the 1:100 if anyone pulls off the double covers.
Any collector can tell if a page is ripped off though let’s be real. So 1:100s are the book that and the Brown sounds like Jonboy is RIP. Well the double cover is THE book but very few people will get those.
Unless it ends of up all trades had this issue including Jon boy THAT WOULD BE NUTS. RIP trade print runs
Withdrew my post Due to misinformation since Alana made clear to me it’s legit every copy of at least The Jonboy trade.
EDIT/UPDATE: I was right. its not every trade cover its only the 1:100 issues that were supposed to ship WITH those exclusive jon boy trades that ended up being printed with not only their correct Stegman sketch 1:100 cover but ALSO the jonboy trade cover on top of it.
Error double covers ? I call bs.
It would be an error if there was 1 copy on Ebay. Maybe 2.
But more than 5 ?? And some from the same sellers ??? LMAO…this is all bullshit.
If this was truly an error, the retailer who sold them would have known about it before mailing copies and hold them back.
This industry can be so ass backwards sometimes. Some guy makes an error on the press or a machine breaks causing a defect and everyone runs to buy it at higher prices. It is insane. Yes it might be rare but it’s “broken” or “not what you ordered” which is BAD business not value generating business.
Said another way. If I save up my money to buy a custom Ferrari in fire engine red and after years I finally have enough to buy it. I pull the trigger and when it arrives it is half Red and half brown, or the bumper is put on backwards. That car certainly will be rare BUT it is worth less than not more than it was initially. I’d also be incredibly pissed I didn’t get what I purchased.
Ok, felt like ranting for a minute. Have a great day.
One last thing, I’m waiting to get my error Thor with the Star Wars cover from CGC this week. So it is insane but you can still make some money
I think that we, as speculators, do not have a grounded touch on how casual comic book fans react to these books. I do believe that all things Cates are in the headspace of most casual readers of Marvel books, but I really have no clue what the readers are talking about these days.
See I thought it was maybe a cool, intentional thing marvel was doing. Like a double cover for every 1:100 of store exclusive trade covers. But according to Alana it’s a mass copy error so it sounds like it wasn’t intentional. But yes the price on these is
Gonna be insane but then again there
May not be a metric shit ton of double covers out there after this recall. It doesn’t help that CGC acknowledges errors like this right on the slab insert.
I am confused ,… are the Jonboy trade press issues I ordered NOT coming in now due to a recall? Will they ever arrive? Why dont they honor what was printed?
Venom 25 3rd print 1:25 up on midtown
For the eBay price of $100. SMH
Right? Pass.
But it’s the third print incentive with Codex on it going to be his rarest book. Horrible cover A no one wants to order and $5.99 cover price will keep the incentive rare.
Yep, pass for me. I personally like the 2nd print much better, scarce or not. Both will be valuable.
Grahamcrackers never even listed a single copy of the variant just the regular cover for the 3rd print
You make a strong case. And Midtown’s $100 price could be from not really wanting to order/warehouse that many “A” copies. I may regret it down the line, but I’ll still leave this for the ballers.
