Might be one to watch, could come down even more. If these hit the $30 range, I might have to pull the trigger myself for the long term buy, hold and gamble… 
It was, at it’s lowest I was seeing it around $80 on Ebay when it started. Still $100 at Midtown. I think there’s value with it at $55, assuming Cates keeps using Codex
Venom 27 is the book for Codex. First full. The double cover misprint is easily the grail.

Meh, I’m still banking on Venom #25. He’s on the cover of the additional prints… it’s gonna be the overall winner and that’s if he sticks around. For all we know he ends up sucking the big one…
I like 25 and 27, but I think 27 will be the winner by a long shot.
26 will be good too. My theory with Virus is he’ll end up joining forces with Eddie and Dylan to defend against Codex. Then they’ll become friends and Virus will end up being a good guy.
When he is revealed to be Winter Soldier and then turn into a snowflake no one will care about either Venom #25 or #27

Ok question. Since 27 is his first full appearance would any of the store variants count as 1st cover? Or just #25 2nd print as 1st cover? Because Virus 1st cover is the greg horn or is it issue #26? Just seeking clarity. I’ve sold a few waiting on more but kept 1 copy for the PC.

Your question depends on the eye of the beholder.
For purists, Venom 26 will be Virus’s first cover.
For people who include variants into the equation, the Greg Horn 25 is.
For both purists and variant chasers, Venom 25 second print is first cover for Codex. But, he’s not in the story at all and it isn’t solo.
Since he isn’t in the story at all, this gives value to his store variant Venom 26 solo covers.
And Venom 27 will also have value, and IMO, be his most sought after book in the end, since it’s his first full appearance.
So you can’t go wrong with any of these, but some will just be better than others.
My pick for the best out of them all, aside from the double-print error, is the Venom 27 Knull gauntlet.
Also, I think Codex is a mid- to long-term play if you’re looking to maximize returns, probably ranging from 3-12 months before they start really taking off.

What’s to keep anyone from marrying a John Boy Trade dress variant cover on a 1:100 variant for #27 I would say it’s not hard to replicate as long as you know how to line up original staple holes and not make new ones. So I wouldn’t put a premium on something easily faked.

Probably the same thing keeping people from making any other multiple cover books. Seems doable.
Well there’s a big problem with people making fake double covers according to a guy who specializes in them even making it through CGC. The guy has a write up how to spot fakes most of it’s real subtle like that covers being offset a couple mm is how a double cover should sit and if they don’t it’s probably a fake.
I agree. I’ve never been a fan of “errors” than can be easily duplicated with a few of the right parts. Another example was the winter soldier #1 that had some pages swapped for venom #9. I was able to recreate that one myself with a purchase Of the two comics (half off). I did it to prove it could be done (not to sell) but unfortunately I was a little sweaty and the ink smeared a bit around the staples…
If I was a little more patient with my hands and less careless I would have aced it. At least enough to fool the inexperienced…would have been fun to test the 3rd party graders…
Probably be the book you want for Codex if there is a 1:25 sketch it will be of the regular 2nd printing cover I would imagine.
