10k print run
For what?
Isn’t the bottom one your picture? The one I posted on CHU? The post I said how much the books were going for?
Ok. It’s not. But looked exactly like it.
I’m a little lighter on the thumb to the spine, lol.
So a quick recap of today. I’ll provide a more in depth review after the con is over.
First stop I headed directly to Tiny Onion to grab the Department of Truth 15 “bootleg”. Limit one per customer per day. At $15. Grabbed a “Con Crud” exquisite corpses event card (it was limit 5, $5 each).
Next stop was the VeeFriends booth to grab some sticker packs (free). They were just in a box at their booth…limit 2 maybe?
Because my kids are into K-Pop demon hunters, and the booth was nearby, I grabbed a couple exclusive glow in the dark pins of Derp and Sussie. Of all the characters, those two crack me up. $15 each.
Then I bolted to the Marvel booth to see if they still were offering the free AF15 homage magic card variant (plus card). They were. It was $50 for a year, but @agentpoyo swears by it and it came with pins and a Nova Action figure…
I also grabbed an Ultimate Spider-Man #21 NYCC variant ,
So thinking the pins, figure and USM21 will pay for the year subscription…or most of it.
From there I ran over to the Walmart booth. That took forever…grabbed some VeeFriends bags with comics and stickers in them….then got in line to play games to win tokens for comics.
Took forever…I saw a sign that said Todd McFarlane signatures 1-2, but didn’t really register that he was doing a signing at the Walmart Booth…but as I finished the last (of three) games for tokens, Todd suddenly appeared at the booth!!
He practically ran me off bet before so noticed. Anyway, rather than wait in line to cash my tokens in for comics, I decided to get in the signing line (I came back later to cash the tokens in). Turns out it was the right move as he was limited on time and comics. So I was able to shake his hand, and have a brief conversation and walked out with a memory for a lifetime!
Got out of line at 1:30…the first Marvel panel (JSC) was at 2pm, so ran upstairs and got in line. It was basically history about his career.
I led that panel about 10 minutes early (grabbed a comic) to get into the X-Men panel. That I posted above.
Then left that one as the Q&A started (grabbed a comic) and headed to the DC / AWA wrestling panel. I just wanted the giveaway which were on the seats so left that early.
So at this point it’s 5pm…vendors close at 7pm…so ran around the floor grabbing a few exclusives and diving into some bins. Found some good stuff cheap…I’ll summarize it all later.
Cashed in two of my 3 Walmart tokens…grabbed some more free VeeFriends stuff.
Grabbed a few more K-Pop Demon Hunters collectibles for my kids. These cards are by artist Brian Kong. I thought he did a really good job, and they remind me of the Impell Marvel Universe cards. $50 for the pair…which was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I gotta bring the kids back something.
I grabbed some burbon infused chocolates for the wife, as it’s our 17th anniversary Sunday.
At 7pm & ran down to artist alley as I am targeting a few autographs, but most had left so took pictures of their fees and times for tomorrow (Jock, Jason Howard, Jeff Dekal and Gabriel Dell Otto).
Then made my way up to the Hip Hop to Comic panel to close out the day.
Tomorrow’s Agenda (10-12:30)
- Whatnot to grab the Hop Hop marvel comic.
- Courtyard io
- Cash in my last Walmart token
- send in a comic to CGC to grade/flip (get the free comic which should pay for it in full)
- finish bin diving
(Afternoon thru 6pm)
- Panels (Energon / Marvel Next Big Thing / Marvela Comics to Screen)
- signatures in between (?)
Evening (6-8)
- bin diving (maybe)
- finish signatures
Full day tomorrow.
Sounds busy and fun!
I was FOMO’ing a little for not going Thursday…but knew that would likely be too much to do three days…
I don’t think I missed out on anything as I was able to grab stuff today. And right now I know I would be regretting it if I had.
Thank goodness Monday is a holiday…2 days to recover before back to work…
