Have any Black Mask options gone anywhere? The kids robbing a bank, MAYBE.

Yeah I agree. The only Star Wars books I’ve sold has been the Bad Batch stuff and the Mandi/Grogu covers from a couple years back.

It’s been a pre-SDCC lull in sales. With not a lot of news or options coming out of sdcc I am expecting more slowness. Have had a couple of sales but not much

Both June and July have been solid for sales for me. I haven’t seen much of a slow down, but it’s so much about hot books and hot covers right now.

My last four sales are all Nightwing variants. If I find these (Mora, Babs, etc) for cover or less, I’m buying. They just keep selling.

I think I’ve seen this kid before.

Do you use a flatbed scanner or snap pictures of your comics when you list for sale? I’m leaning towards going back to the scanner. It eliminates glare issues and gives a pretty clear image of the book.

For me, I do both with books around $40+.
I take a scan of the full front and back cover (Images 1 & 2)
Then pictures of full front and back (Images 3 & 4); as well as the corners, spine, etc…(Images 5+)
I ensure I put in the listing which images are scans and which are pictures.
I also identify the defects and the associated image containing the defect.

This also helps with not having to put a grade in the description as everything is displayed in scans, pictures & described accordingly.

I have a scanner, but snapping pictures is like 1000x faster.

I can snap 8 pictures (front, back, upper/mid/lower spine front and back), rotate them and resize in less time it takes to do a scan front and back.

I also take at angles to reduce glare. If there is a glare on one picture, the area is captured w/o a glare in one the other 7 angles.

I used to take pictures with a fancy Nikon. Now i do everything on my phone. Can create a single listing in about a minute. No AI either.

My local VStocks and Half Price Books can have terrible stuff priced way too high or amazing stuff priced amazingly low. Thankfully, the latter happened recently for me when my local VStock was restocked by the warehouse as their comic inventory was low. They received a bunch of stuff that was already priced and had been sitting around for who knows how long. There were some things for $3-$5 that are worth $10-$20, but I found some GOLD with the nice little stuff. Last of Us: American Dreams 1 for $4, Savage Dragon 141 for $3, Star Wars: Darth Vader 3 AKA first Doctor Aphra for $4 (that one has cooled, but that is still a killer price). I have some chums eager to get what I acquired from me so it was a good day at the VStock!

I was in Sacramento and visited a Half Price Books there during the tail end of the pandemic. The comics were unpriced with a sign that said prices will be checked at the counter and sold at market value…

My closest Half Price Books has things priced at 2022 prices. The only time I find anything there that I want, it’s new issues in their clearance rack for 50 cents. Found a couple Ghost Machine titles last time. Devour, Rook Exodus, Hyde Street. Nothing that will make me rich, but a few that I’m reading.

Has anyone used chatgpt, as a tool to verify a signature. I gave it a try for a couple of my CGC unwitnessed signatures and the results seem accurate in those few cases.

Reason I hate Facebook Marketplace. I see a listing that just went live. I responded I would take them and could meet up today. He comes back and says he got a higher offer. I told him to shove it.
