Issues 1-20 seem to be a ghost at shops. I never see any of those first 20.
Issue 1 is like $250-300
I was fortunate with Ice Cream Man. I’ve always enjoyed horror anyways and the whole concept of short stories was intriguing from the get go. I distinctly recall adding it to my subscription service via DCBS at the time and because of that ended up getting every issue.
I’m glad to see this new as I’ll tuck them away a bit longer. As mentioned, they aren’t all that easy to find to begin with, but they also had the various “variant” open order covers which further diluted copies down (since it wasn’t ordered much anyway.
It really wasn’t until that Dr. Seuss issue hit that anyone paid attention to it.
Another book that I also group up with Spawn, SIKTC, etc that can sell to folks that not necessarily be comic collectors but just horror fans. I love stuff that appeals to both.
I got impatient and sold my copy the week it came out for $15.
Rookie mistake. That didn’t take long to realize the error.
I did end up finding another copy about a month later for cover price. but didn’t realize it had a tear in the back cover until after I bought it. Ironically I sold that copy for more than the first NM copy…
My son Joe played his first high school baseball game today. Starting catcher in the JV team. Went 0 for 0 at the plate with a deep sac fly to score the first run of the win and walking his second at bat. Heck of a game. Kid has grown so much.
I have issues 1-18 of Ice Cream Man and a signed hardcover. I’ve always enjoyed the series. The only reason I stopped preordering issues was because my LCS decided to sell my copies to someone else. I stopped trying to complete runs of books after that happened. I figured out who got my books at the time, and recently they sold their modern collection. Also, the LCS is closing. Funny how things end up.

Sleazy is as sleazy does. Sorry they did that.
That’s just wrong on so many levels.
No. I think they bailed on scout and started their own little publishing thing being distributed through Keenapot.
but im seeing the book on lunar and last time i checks keenspot isnt with lunar and never has been
Happy Friday the 13th to those who celebrate! I kid, of course, as some folks think this day is unlucky. I just use it as an excuse to blog about the horror franchise. I made a post today on which, “Friday the 13th,” movies are best for newbies, in case any of ya’ll don’t know Jason Vorhees well and wanna get introduced. Now for one of the rare occasions where I do a shameless plug and link to myself…
I didn’t even make the connection it was Fri 13.
Explains my daughter’s pissy attitude for a Friday this morning…
Got to put up a copy of Satan’s Six #4 to take advantage!
I have Satan’s Six #4 great book to have. Mine is a signed copy.
Oh, also watched the original Friday the 13th, the remake one, and just for fun, Terrifier 1
If anyone wants to see something both boring and extremely fascinating at the same time, look up the pitch drop experiment. Scientists in Australia wanted to prove pitch is a liquid, but appears solid at room temperature. So they set up an experiment filling a beaker to drip pitch out of the bottom in 1930. Simple experiment really, will it drop? Is it a liquid? It has dropped 9 times since the 1930 beginning of the experiment and they are counting down until the 10th drop, which should be coming in the next 9 years. The scientist who started the experiment died after the 7th drop fell and didn’t live to see the 8th. Also after the 7th drop fell, they installed AC in the building which slowed the drops down from an average of 9 years.
Another interesting recommendation if you are interested in the UFO/UAP dealie. Lue Elizondo’s new book, Imminent, is out. Very detailed discussion about a lot of strange stuff. The closest I get to conspiracy theories is Department of Truth. But, hearing from a guy who worked on this stuff at the Pentagon is interesting.
I didn’t realize there was an argument for it being a solid because any time I was a kid climbing a pine tree it seemed to be all over my hands.
Is grease a solid? Is tar a solid?
