Odds and Ends

That is a good question and although I know just from doing my own light cleaning it doesn’t take much to mess it up.

No one really talks about failures. But we also say if you’re going to farm out your books for pressing use a reputable/experienced service. Don’t hand it off to some guy who’s just starting out…

I sent a self published book but from Michel Fiffe called negative land which is only available from his patreon and limited to 500 comics from my PC and it seems the pages got stuck together and the book is completely damaged.

frustrating because very difficult to replace. no copies on ebay.

Michel Fiffe makes good comics. You have quality taste.

I think Copra is one of the most underrated books, great art and homage to the suicide squad.

If you press with too much pressure you run the risk of having staple indents on the cover. Those can be taken out most of the time. If you use a steamer to add humidity you run the risk of burning the paper, so to speak by keeping the steamer too close. If that happens you will get a small patch of wrinkles that may not come out in a re-press. Pressing on too high of heat is not good as well. Always practice on dollar bin books first.

Yeah, that can happen sometimes. It is rare and usually only happens with Indi comics that are more than likely using poor inks and or gloss that “re-activate” a little when going through the pressing process. The inks and gloss turn to glue where all the comic pages stick together pretty much bricking the comic. That very thing happened when I was pressing a copy of Raising Dion #1… Note to anyone who presses their own books. Don’t press Raising Dion #1.

Given the book is damaged and difficult to replace, any suggestions on resolution with the presser.

Not sure what can be done if the presser doesn’t offer a refund for the value of the book as part of the deal if something like this happens. If his pressing business is insured you may be able to file a claim that way, but I doubt that will be the case. I’m pretty sure the argument will be the book was pressed properly but the flaws in how the comic was manufactured could not have been known when pressing. Basically, he might say, he did his job and it isn’t his fault the publisher used materials that don’t work well with pressing. This may be a loss on your end. What is the value of the comic? I hope it isn’t too much.

this book is from my PC. I basically have ever book ever produced by Michel Fiffe. this includes all the self published COPRA books. The negative land book is very difficult to replace because there are only 500 and they were from a patreon. just disappointed given it will be tough to get back.

Anyone get in on the Sydney Sweeney used bath water soap?
Sometimes i wonder why im gambling with a few bucks, just to make a few comic bucks; when crazy nonsense like used bath soap was staring right at me begging to get flipped and i ignored my intuition

I heard about it, knew it would be a big hit. Still had no interest in learning more.

Who’s Sydney Sweeny?

Doesn’t help me much… but okay, pretty girl with big boobs. Selling used bath water? Sounds like she sucks at acting and desperate for cash…

How much of that bath water was ingested? Let’s be honest. What are they doing with it?

Dirty water hot dogs?

I’m betting it’s a scam. Like how could it be legit. I could sell bathwater from a celebrity.
