Odds and Ends

Star Wars spec is pretty dead right now. If you don’t need to move them I’d hang onto them and see if things change.

Hate to say it, but yes. You’re better getting out while you can accepting the loss. I was invested big time too and ended up selling at a big loss or trading then in for cents on the dollar.

As they would say in the stock market, Star Wars are a HOLD for now… they’ll come around again, it’s just the cycle of how the market works!

Hold your Star Wars. It will cycle back around and be popular again. Probably.

100% hold. I still buy Star Wars books on the cheap when I find them. Disney won’t let the franchise die and will have a hit again at some point.

Frank Miller is going to illustrate Batman and Wolverine facing off as part of the big DC and Marvel crossover. His art style has become a lot more divisive in the last three decades so I feel like people would’ve been more excited if this were announced in the 90s as opposed to 2025. I’m still intrigued.

Have any Black Mask options gone anywhere? The kids robbing a bank, MAYBE.

Yeah I agree. The only Star Wars books I’ve sold has been the Bad Batch stuff and the Mandi/Grogu covers from a couple years back.

It’s been a pre-SDCC lull in sales. With not a lot of news or options coming out of sdcc I am expecting more slowness. Have had a couple of sales but not much

Both June and July have been solid for sales for me. I haven’t seen much of a slow down, but it’s so much about hot books and hot covers right now.

My last four sales are all Nightwing variants. If I find these (Mora, Babs, etc) for cover or less, I’m buying. They just keep selling.

Do you use a flatbed scanner or snap pictures of your comics when you list for sale? I’m leaning towards going back to the scanner. It eliminates glare issues and gives a pretty clear image of the book.

For me, I do both with books around $40+.
I take a scan of the full front and back cover (Images 1 & 2)
Then pictures of full front and back (Images 3 & 4); as well as the corners, spine, etc…(Images 5+)
I ensure I put in the listing which images are scans and which are pictures.
I also identify the defects and the associated image containing the defect.

This also helps with not having to put a grade in the description as everything is displayed in scans, pictures & described accordingly.
