Odds and Ends

Paul Pelletier is signing for free at a local shop tomorrow.

Should I get this signed? I have it for sale currently. Not sure if the sig would help or hurt its perceived value.

He’s not a big cover artist name, but I also have to think there are very few of this book signed out there.

Thoughts?

Couldn’t hurt.

I got around to reading, “Gwenpool,” 4 of the current series. Marvel made a huge deal out of the fact they were bringing back the REAL original Gwen Stacy only to reveal she is a clone…of a clone? Lazy. Even the book have Gwenpoole calling it out as lazy with her fourth-wall-breaking doesn’t make up for how shockingly dumb it is.

I’m gonna make a blog post to go up tomorrow discussing my thoughts on this mess.

I did spoilers on it. Would have saved you the money.

I saw you did spoilers but I didn’t read them because I was curious what it would be if I just read the comic because I’ve been following the series. I probably should’ve saved my money and looked at your spoilers.

Some times……

I don’t know if his signature would help or hurt that issue. I tend to not get books signed unless it’s for my PC or there’s a witness to grade it, if I intend to sell.

But if you’re interested at all in original art, Paul is among the best deals remaining out there for high quality published pages and full body sketch commissions. Super nice guy. I’d go purely to see what he brought for art.

If he could do a silver or neon yellow/green (paint the en) that would look awesome. For these lesser known creators you need to spice it up a bit.

I would do it for the PC though. And one extra to sell if I had two.

I love this cover, but have none.

Man I’d love to know your secret with Mercari. It’s deadsville over there for me. Do you do free shipping?

Nope. Not free shipping at all. I don’t know why I sell more on Mercari than eBay as of late. I even price my books higher on Mercari than eBay.

I have a $37 payout coming from eBay sales this weekend and about 5x that from Mercari.

The fact that searching for what you’re looking for is 100x more cumbersome on Mercari is what makes me not even look there personally. I think many feel the same way.

My searches pull in such random things…that don’t even have the words in the title or description. I would say 5% of what shows up is what I’m looking for, or at least would be what would also come up on eBay.

@Anthony probably has some status thing for making so many sales over the years his items get priority or show up on searches more than the average Joe like us, I’m guessing. That might have something to do with it…

I am just under $10,000 lifetime sales on Mercari. I don’t know if my books get featured more or not. I started there blowing out action figures I got cheap.

My Uncanny X-Men 266 sold on eBay overnight and have it sold on Mercari would’ve pushed me over that $10,000

I find it is faster to list stuff on Mercari so I throw my cheap stuff there with the buyer paying shipping so I make five or so bucks on a book.

Also Thinking about using Mercari in addition to ebay. Are you able to copy another auction of a similar comic and just add photos. I dont see that option on Mercari however i am newbie. Also can you edit photos in Mercari like on ebay.

Agree the Mercari search is a joke, i typed in spiderman 252 and got a bunch of random comics.

Anthony how are you selling more on Mercari, the website is cumbersome? Also quality of books just seem lower.

So I take photos of the comic. Write my eBay listing and upload the photos. I always put the title in the body of the description as well. Then copy the text and put it in the Description box of Mercari. Copy the title from the top of the description then put it in the title portion. Then upload the photos. Takes me about a minute to do for each.

Here is an eBay listing and a Mercari listing.
eBay

Mercari

Using cut and paste and doing them back to back makes it really easy.
