That’s just a bad LCS owner. It’s incredible to me how many store owners treat their business like a hobby and barely know anything about what’s trending in the hobby.
Some comic shop owners I know are really plugged in and follow trends. Some are basically retired/focus on games or cards in their store, and just do the comics more as a side thing/hobby. The benefit to the ones who don’t care much about the comic aspect of their store is they’ll sell the stuff that is hot or trending for cheap as they don’t know/don’t care.

I think the book had a lot of exclusives, so I am sure that helped out with sale numbers.

I’m not sure if exclusives count…but I think a lot of those were less than 1000 if you’re talking NYCC.
Unless they order 3000 and destroyed 2000+….

I think Skinbreaker will be good. Talked with Finch at SDCC, he said it was his best work yet and was happy that Kirkman let him take his time on the art.

This will likely be a big hit. The older fans want to see their favorite characters in more gritty situations. Michael Bay’s rendition and reimagining of the classics did not do it for me.

Excited to read this! Signed copy arrived yesterday. Joe is such a great author. I find it so cool that the talent for writing was handed down from his parents to him.
It’s been like 10 years since his last novel (but he did those great comics). Apparently he does want to start kicking out more though as he’s been sitting on many ideas.

netflix passed on it, so now it becomes a theatrical movie. that’s huge, great news for all his series spec wise
