A lot of odd people out there
I just realized I had grabbed a bunch of Absolute Batman #13 Catwoman cover. Well 3 were first prints and 3 were second prints.
I absolutely hate the way dc is making the text for second and later prints so tiny you need a microscope to read them. Especially if the logo and corner boxes are the same or similar colors.
Rant over.
Do you use any software program to dual list on both ebay and Mecari?
I see it being a headache to list an item on both without some program to automatically delist from the platform the item was not sold on. Would love to list on both but just seems like a lot of work.
I’ve done the same, Anthony. It’s probably why they do it. So we accidentally think they are first prints. Hate it.
No. I don’t use an import. Just cut and paste and honestly it takes no time at all.
I think it’s a great marketing strategy. Apparently it’s increasing sales by 100% (using only your data point).
But seriously…for someone like me who’s eye doctor has been suggesting bi-focal or progressive lenses for a few years now…it sure doesn’t help my case that I don’t need them.
I’m near sighted and I not only have to remove my glasses to see what printing it is. I’m holding it at a specific distance close to my face and squinting most times as well…
I can’t tell you how many times I had to triple check Martian Manhunters this weekend to make sure It wasn’t a 2nd print…

I was “Do’h!”-ing hard about buying 2nd print Martian Manhunters, but that title really didn’t do much to differentiate between printings at a glance. It was definitely a reinforcing lesson to look at the UPC codes. ![]()
Just go by the Barcode I say…
I thought Mercari had the ability to import eBay listings…I tried something once…and I think it don’t give me the option to Import select auctions…it did them all and I still had to do quite a bit of manipulation to get the “right.”
I take pictures with my phone, and I take at least 8 each individual listing. That’s a lot of picture manipulation. And I find the editing on my phone is about 3x faster than what eBay or Mercari is capable of.
So I’ve just gotten in the habit of creating an EBay listing, then immediately creating a Mercari listing through copy/paste. It really only adds about a minute or two to the process. Then I can just delete the photos from my phone…even if I “deactivate” the listing on Mercari if I don’t want it on both…at least it’s saved/ready to go if I choose to make it active.
It’s not all that bad when you’re just listing a few books a week…last night I had 26 new listings to add…was up until 2am getting them all up. But 95% of my time was spent organizing/examining the books, taking pictures, editing the pictures and creating the eBay listings. Would say only 5% of my time spent was on creating the equivalent Mercari listing….if even that.
The numbers are not all that much bigger…and they are also sideways so you need to rotate the boom or tilt your head.
Basically, minimal improvement at best….

At least manhunter has this going for it…good luck remembering which color is 1st/2nd/3rd/etc…
Wait…are 1st and 3rd the same color?
Edit: never mind…doesn’t look like they do this on subsequent issues….

With as well as Absolute Universe is doing, I am really surprised the FCBD All In special isn’t doing better than it is.
This works out to an average of $373 per oz, or almost $6k per pound…expensive tuna.
Were all peddling Absolute peanuts & spears; when all we really have to do is catch a fish to get rich?
Anyone have a boat? Ill bring the Fenwicks
We’re over fishing these and not allowing them to reach full potential size. Some tuna (Bluefin partciularly) can reach to over 800 to 1000 pounds… and they keep lowering the allowable size to catch and keep. I think the record Bluefin holder was close to 1500 pounds, so honestly, this 535 pounder is small in comparison to it’s actual potential. I stopped eating tuna back in the 90s myself…

I had tuna twice; once in water, once in oil.
Suffice to say i will not be contributing to the demand and thus, the overfishing during my lifetime ![]()
What about tuna fish sandwich or casserole…?
