How does everyone handle emails asking for the lowest price you can go on an ebay auction?
I tell them it’s an auction, the willing bidders will determine the final price and value.
If there’s very little views or any bidding and you want to sell it, I may work out a deal with the buyer. Mind you I would never put up a book for auction if I know there’s very little interest.
For me, if there are bids on it, you honor those bids. Only if there are no bids I’d say it’s okay to cancel. It’s not fair to those who are bidding to cancel on them.
The real way to handle this is (cause I’ve been asked this as well on an auction is), tell them to bid but only put in the max amount they’re willing to spend. There’s a good chance they snag it at a lower price. That’s my philosophy on bidding and you’ll never lose, even if you don’t win the item. If you put in your max amount your willing to spend and you win it at that price or lower, you win. If you don’t win cause it went over your max price, you still win cause you didn’t overspend for it based on your budget.
Yes, I meant little views and no bidding. I would never cancel an auction if there’s already a bid on it no matter how low it is. It’s the risk you take when you put up a book for auction. That’s why I would never do it unless I know that there’s demand for the book.
I’ve been pretty successful with auctions in the past. It’s a great way to offload crap books too. Either drop them off at Half Price for pennies or make a few quarters doing auctions… ![]()
Sounds Iike loser talk, to me!
Only losers talk about other losers… Wait… ![]()
I’d love to see these shoot back up in value so I can offload them, well, what I have remaining after they originally heated up organically after release. ![]()
I loved the art on this series but the plot got so convoluted I stopped reading it.
So Ultimate Spider-man is killed in Ultimate Endgame 3 this week and no one is talking about it eh? How the mighty Marvel has fallen.
Do you guys remember when Superman #75 from the 90s caused national outrage and made the national mainstream news?

Sadly Marvel has found a new low… my orders of Marvel books have dropped drastically compared to DC and Indy books.
I talked about it in the spoilers
Deaths mean nothing now because everyone knows nobody actually stays dead anymore. It’s a gimmick to boost sales and sadly, I don’t really care about it anymore and it’s no reason to go rush out and buy it either.
This was the beginning of the end for major character deaths being a big deal. Hadn’t really happened prior to this so that’s why it was such a huge deal. Now they keep killing off just to bring back… it’s rather weak story telling if you ask me to kill off a major character just to try and boost sales from your shitty story telling.
Crap. I guess I should have sold my Ultimate Spider-man #1 a year ago. Held too long. Dead spec thread here it comes. So much for yet another one of my modern holds.
Glad I sold my 9.8 USM 1 a month ago. Had a feeling that would happen .
Ultimate Richard Parker is the key anyway.
I would like to see him jump over.
