Odds and Ends

I really have the best of the best people here.

Got this Hunter Rose vs Argent original page by @Gbess in the mail tonight when I got home from practice.

Thanks man. Really made my day.

Looks like he has one previous cover. He was listed as Richard Lim on that one and Ric Lim on this one.

I enjoyed the comic even though it, “Ended,” suddenly and then with all the controversy with Latour seems it could stay unfinished. As the cast announcements keep coming, I am intrigued. Also, seeing Ethan Suplee and how insanely buff he is now always astounds me when I think about his, “My Name is Earl,” days.

I enjoyed it as well, big fan but then I started losing interest after the death of Earl Tubb… I was hoping he was part of the story for much longer.

Hope it’s entertaining, I have a soft spot for crossovers between publishers, different IPs etc.

Some of you are WAY ahead of me, but a wee bit of a milestone on eBay:

CHU is responsible for probably the majority of these. Thanks CHU!

Did a bunch of people do their taxes later and they just got their refund? I asked because I’m suddenly having a bunch of sales yesterday and today. It’s been a mix of stuff I recently listed that was popular and I expected to move fast AND stuff that’s been sitting forever. I’m not upset by any means!

Maybe. I do notice when I have “popular” books, I have better luck moving old stuff along with it. Not having any hot books really affects the faucet overall.

Refunds? People get refunds? I make sure to never get refunds… just means you’re overpaying throughout the year on money you could use or need throughout the year or even making more money from it.

I’ve had this chat with more than one person about this, and they’ve acknowledged they just don’t want to risk owing at tax time and/or kinda need the refund as a forced savings account – even if they get no interest that way.

Newkadia.com now pointing to comicsource.com with a coming soon message. I used to buy from them a lot before their pricing got crazy…

Color scheme is the same so I wonder if it’s just a rebranding or if the owner sold.

I would do what @agentpoyo suggests, excerpt my wife works part time and paychecks can fluctuate…and her company doesn’t seem to take out enough either so I end up having to compensate by having additional taxes taken out of my paycheck just to make sure we don’t owe each April 15th. Changing tax laws each year can mess with us to.

Basically, its somewhat a moving target for us trying to estimate what to put away (that we could make money on) so I’m always leaning towards making sure I overshoot and just don’t owe…and if we get $$$ back then that goes towards a vacation or home improvement.

Just a heads up, for some reason the Cover A of Excommunicated #1 appears to be delayed. The ratios appear to be shipping on time. You might see an inflated price for Cover A based on a perceived shortage. I assure you there will be PLENTY of cover A once they ship. The cover A was sold in bundles of 10 for $10 and they counted towards ratios, so there will be plenty of ratios as well.

Same here. Seems the owner of Newkadia took a self inflicted challenge that he could be even more obnoxiously overpriced than Mile High…Both had code words that would give discounts but even when they had 50% to 60% off “sales” they were both still way over average eBay pricing…many times by a lot. It was too bad as at one time I did enjoy buying from Newkakia. It was a good place to get fillers for collections at good prices with the occasional deal on semi-key issues.
