Speaking of games, that new, “Refall,” game apparently is terrible. I’m gonna try it as I have game pass and it’ll just cost me an hour of time or so to see.

Knull is coming… again
Still waiting for Black Winter to come back
So, after a ten year hiatus or so, I came back right after No Way Home came out. Knull is the first “new” character that really popped out to me and I absolutely love him for what he’s done for the overall story of Venom and the symbiotes in general. I see a lot of hate for the character, and I don’t understand it. Anyone feel like cluing me in as to why he’s hated so much?
If it’s the death of the venom-verse it’ll soon be over, right? For good.
I think it’s cates more than the character.

I don’t have issues with Knull, just dead characters coming back so fast.

I don’t like Knull because I think he’s not interesting or very compelling, he’s super duper powerful and retconned to be god of the symbiotes . In a lot of his appearances he served as an antagonist for venom but beyond that I don’t really think he’s all that. marvel and dc love to put out these villains where their whole gimmick is “look how powerful and strong they are, damn knull beat the avengers he’s so awesome!” Knull or Batman who laughs feel like what some people call “walking power levels” where the whole appeal of them is how powerful and destructive they are but they don’t have personalities or an interesting character to them.

I kind of like how Knull was super cynical and almost sarcastic about everything. He was like a snarky Darkseid. He still should be dead a couple more years before he comes back, though.

From what we see in the current Venom series, Eddie has the ability to pluck himself out of any timeline into any other timeline. I am pretty sure Knull can do the same thing. So even if he is dead a previous alive version can travel through time. But then again it could just be another universes version of Knull.

One of the very coolest things about that Venom storyline/Cates run/Knull was the way they incorporated pieces of non Marvel mythology into it. They immediately hooked me with that.
I’ve always enjoyed the myths/stories of Beowulf/Grendel and the way they seamed that into the history/symbiote/Knull story was really really cool.
I loved the character, his attitude (as David mentioned) and I actually thought they did a good job of creating his story/origin.
My issue was it was like they just sort of gave up on him. I hated the ended/his demise. It was horrible. Like a bunch of 5 year olds sat around a table and tossed out outlandish ideas.
There was so much talk of the Sentry coming into play…and as powerful as Knull was, it seemed like one of the few options and could have been cool. Completely ruined it all for me as it honestly felt like they just wanted to be done with it and move onto other things.
What is that saying…“was the juice worth the squeeze?”…in the case of Knull…not at all.
