Are you saying they should have cancelled it sooner…or later? I’m still holding out hope for a Venom 25 signed by Cates from 2020.
They also haven’t figure out the Hallows Even 2nd print one shot was cancelled…

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a good digital camera that I can use to take high res pictures? It’ll be mainly used to take high res pics of comics that I intend to put up on feebay. I see people mostly use their phones but the quality seems to vary. I’m committed to get off my lazy ass this year and to put up almost all my books up for sale, may even get an ebay store. For that I need a great camera. Doesn’t have to be the best but enough to take very high res detailed pics of the comic and possibly cgc books in the future. Quality of the pics are like the ones you see on cgc’s imaging of their slabs.
I just got a camera on amazon that was listed as 48MP, 1080P blah blah blah. Got it and the pictures turned out so blurry even at the highest res. Had to return it. Not really sure what to look for. Do I need a DSLR camera?

I have a Nikon DSLR and you won’t get better quality pictures than from actual DSLR’s in my opinion but it might be overkill unless you want to use it for other purposes as I normally just use my phone camera for snapping pics to sell on eBay, etc. From my experience, it’s all about lighting to get the best pics but you want to probably setup a small area as a studio for the comics to snap pics cause direct light causes glares and such. You could probably keep using your phone camera but instead invest in setting up a good way to get the lighting perfect to capture the best angles of your books.

But it’s a dynamic forces signed book so I never expect them to honor it. And the book has lost all its value already.

Does eBay reduce the resolution for photos uploaded if they are too large? I’m wondering if there’s a point of diminishing returns when it comes to high res photos on eBay.
When I used to use my DSLR to take photos for eBay, I found it was very time consuming. Since I provide 8-12 pictures anyway of just about every corner and angle and make sure the light exposes any notable flaws, I just use my phone…can list in seconds as opposed to several minutes.
Appreciate the responses and tips. I’ll definitely set up a little studio area to take better pics. I’ve been on a little kick lately to look for a nice camera. 2024 is all about getting rid of stuff that I don’t need/read so I’m looking at moving all my comics and keeping the ones I want for my pc.
