I saw it as a kid and thought it was boring…because you know, it wasn’t Star Wars. I really should watch it again. It literally has been about forty five years. Ughh, did I just write that???

Funny. I just watched The Black Hole on Disney+ with two of my kids a couple of weeks ago. I was telling them Disney made an outer space movie to capitalize on Star Wars’ success but it sucked. It was worse than I remembered. My kids keep telling me how bad it was. I think on paper it seems a lot better than what the final product was. Maybe as a novel it would be a pretty good si-fi thriller, but it just doesn’t translate well to the big screen.

I have a soft spot for V.I.N.C.E.N.T & Old B.O.B.
The film has actually grown on me a bit. The ending especially as it is a bit thought provoking. A bit creepy even.
Music was cool by John Barry and was the first ever to be digitally recorded and I like the fact that it still used the concept of an “overture”.
Definitely a bit hokey and those special effects…boo!
There are a couple of toys from that film are Grails…the humanoid specifically. Old BOB is really expensive as well.

Saw that. Same here. Huge fan. I keep thinking I should grab VINCENT and BOB Funko pops, and I despise Funko.
Saw the set at my LCS this past week too. They wanted $20 for a mid grade #1, $10 for the other issues. I’ll wait for a 50% off sale or something…but I was tempted…and that was before KCC sent this out.
The giant meteor that “rolled” down the length of the ship…so not possible, yet it looked so real I loved it!

Lots of cheap ones out there but we all know when that app lists a book people start to buy…and then spec channels on Youtube and FB start talking it up and more people buy. This could make some of the top ten or runner up lists this week or next,.and of course even more people will buy. When Tony mentioned the comic earlier this week I found some very cheap copies, under cover price, so I was like, why not. Hopefully in the next few days or so the price climbs and I’ll put mine up for sale.
