Poyo's Spec & Picks for Nov 17th, 2021

Welcome to this weeks spec. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover.

Marvel Picks

Amazing Spider-Man #78 (Beyond) could be a worthy pickup. Been some chatter regarding this issue on the forums.

Amazing Spider-Man #78 (Beyond)

I really like this cover for Dark Ages #3 (of 6) (Okazaki Variant).

Dark Ages #3 (of 6) (Okazaki Variant)

Moon Knight #5 is just a given and the bias pick since I’m a Moon Knight fanboy.

Moon Knight #5

DC Picks

Aquaman the Becoming #3 (right there on the cover which is golden rule #1 as speculation gold) has a new villain from the looks of things. Might not be a bad pickup if you didn’t plan on grabbing one or two… or maybe 3.

Soul Plumber #1 gets a second printing. The first printing has been slowly creeping up in value and price.

Robins #1 (of 6) gets us yet another Robin added to the list.

Robins #1 (of 6) (Cover B - Babs Tarr Card Stock Variant)

Robins #1 (of 6) (Cover A - Baldemar Rivas)

Superman Son of Kal-El #5 is the big issue that reveals Jon’s new love interest. Already selling over cover, sold out at TFAW and others, probably worth the pickup if you intend to flip it. Do it fast though, nobody will care in the coming weeks after the media already ran the news story while also the crowds that aren’t Wednesday Warriors get their copies to tuck away.

Indie and Small Publishers Picks

No brainer pick out of IDW goes to Star Wars High Republic Adventures #10 (Cover A - Tolibao).

Star Wars High Republic Adventures #10 (Cover A - Tolibao)

Even if it wasn’t a Star Wars related book, I’d probably buy it just for the badass cover art. Star Wars High Republic Adv Monster Temple Peak #4 (of 4) is definitely on the pick up list.

Star Wars High Republic Adv Monster Temple Peak #4 (of 4)

Radio Apocalypse #1 (Cover A - Rk) is a book I’ve been looking forward to. Ram V writing is usually spot on.

Radio Apocalypse #1 (Cover B - Martin Simmonds)
Radio Apocalypse #1 (Cover C - 5 Copy Daniel Variant)
Radio Apocalypse #1 (Jim Mahfood TFAW Exclusive Variant)
Radio Apocalypse #1 (Jim Mahfood TFAW Exclusive Variant) Signed CBCS Graded Yellow Label

Radio Apocalypse #1 (Cover A - Rk)

House of Slaughter #1 releases it’s 2nd printing covers. Not sure why anyone would chase these or why a 2nd printing was even warranted, since it seems you can still find plentiful first prints at local and online shops. Even TFAW has most of the ratios available. You might be able to do a quick flip but I’d only buy if you get at cover price or really dirt cheap for the incentive ratio. I wouldn’t even bother with the open order printing.

Not so important to point this one out but given that this is from DC, Jackson Hyde is actually butt naked in the cover. Lol
