That’s cool. Might pick one up. I got the trade signed and sketched by Stan about 20 years ago.
Peach Momoko one over here:
Once upon a time, SDCC exclusives were only obtainable by being at the show and purchasing at the show. Now - they’re just like any other online sales that just happen to be put out during convention time.
The need to be at the show is what made them so hot in the past. Now - meh
Hot Take - exclusives being sold online and not at the show will not stop people from attending SDCC
There are some that are still exclusive in the most exclusive sense of the word.
Yeaaaaa… the historical definition of “exclusive” are the ones I target.
When one cannot obtain a collectible unless they are physically somewhere, it brings a whole different level of wanting and desireability to know it’s coming; yet not be able to get without the help of someone else (at best).
For 15 years I have targeted NYCC and SDCC exclusives as they hold big $$$ out of the gate. I am quite leary of this new trend of “exclusives” that one can get online like any other store variant if you’re aware it’s available.

I can’t believe there are new slaughter packs that makes a 10th print for Siktc #1 after they said 8 was the last printing.
Funny thing is…only the first issue in each pack has a new cover. The rest are still the David Mack variants from the Slaughter Packs. Basically repackaging shit that didnt sell, with a brand new shiny thing…
Comics are the best marketing revenue stream collecting collectible ever. What other collectibles can you just keep making copies of (just alter the covers slightly) and selling for premium prices to the same buyers, over and over and over again? It’s pure genius and we the collectors are all suckers for falling for it!
What have these guys been taking lessons from Wizards of the Coast?
