Shipping slabs box recommendations

If you sell online, do you have a preferred box to ship slabbed comics in? Where do you get them? Thanks for any input. I know the priority mail ones work, but I was looking to mail the slabs in a less expensive tier like USPS ground advantage.

I reuse boxes I have gotten from cbcs cgc and Mycomicshop for shipping. Use bubble wrap and packing peanuts and haven’t had a problem. I have used cut pool noodles from the dollar store to protect the edges before.

I’ve used Slab Shipper and was very happy with the results.

If you use a USPS box make sure it’s one with a fair amount of room at the ends. I think the basic priority boxes are the same length as the slabs, and don’t allow for enough packing. It’s practically guaranteed usps will drop it and crack the case or worse.

But any cardboard box you can put a liberal amount of bubble wrap or packing paper will do. Slightly larger boxes and bubble wrap do not add much weight so don’t cheap out. Just remember to keep boxes around you think will work so you’re not buying them.

Cutting Pool noodles is a great tip.

At a $1.25 each. You have more than enough to go all the way around. Also angle them at the corners to fit as a square. The extra pads the outsides of the slabs nicely.

I stuff a 1092 Priority Box within a 1095 Priority Box.
A little bubble wrap and shipping paper in the 1092 with the slab.
Very very stable and secure and solid with a box within a box.

I’ve used the slab shippers and there have been times I’ve been told by the buyer that the slab came out of those slots. No damage, but they were kind enough to tell me it happened for my own sake

Slab is just shy of 13” in length. Which is why the 1092 is risky.

I’ve seen it done that way. Some post offices don’t have both boxes (mine don’t) but I think you can order them (free).
