Black Cape Comics offered another 300 limited exclusive for issue 13. Went live at 8pm. Was sold out by 8:02 pm. I had to put in my address and phone number and it cost me. It was limited 2 per.
Oh well, at $30 a pop I can pass.
I feel like their new one is just rehashing the idea of 11 but with a giant watermark in the middle. The first one Zu did was pretty good, the second I was a fan of until I realized it was just a picture of a mixed media cover, this one I’m indifferent about.

What a mess. I bought a copy of this via an ebay seller (and yes, ripped pages). Wonder if I’ll get screwed out of the replacement copy.
Also, how are you guys going to handle this, @RipCityGamer? Is Boom paying for shipping for all of these, too? What a major screw up.
From my talks with retailers… Diamond loves just sending crap out and all retailers are on the hook for the shipping charges, whether they want the crap or not…
I have no idea yet. We’re just talking about this now. We haven’t really had anyone contact us about damages. And listing things for sale that are free copies when our records show the cost of the copies can potentially mess with accounting.
As for shipping, I don’t know if Boom is covering it or not. Sometimes publishers will pay for some shipping credit if they add stuff for free, sometimes they won’t. They definitely aren’t covering the cost of sending it from a store to a customer, though.

This is what I was referring to on the “main” site…maybe shops will notice, but unless people immediately read the book and saw the damage may not realize they have a damaged copy until now. Weeks after on sale date is going to cause some issues.
I suggest you contact your eBay seller. Hope you didn’t leave positive feedback yet! Force a return if it’s still in the window. Seller is going to be pissed, but that ain’t your problem.
Of course, you could also take it to you LCS and ask for a replacement. Likely they would assume you grabbed it off the shelf…
I know many CHUers aren’t big fans of store exclusives, and that’s cool. But if SIKTC store exclusives are your thing, this will be a big week. The exclusives for issue 15 (the last issue for a couple months) are hitting this week. Most/all of these tend to dry up very quickly.
So far, I’m aware of the following:

Guessing a couple more. Comic Mint? Sanctum?
No covers yet, but my guess is they’ll hit in the next couple days.
UPDATE: I had TFAW on this list for 15, but Brendon corrected me below. They are on for 16.

I’m in for the TFAW site unseen if it’s the same $20 for a limited to 500. But the others I’m guessing are going to come in way over priced for my tastes.
Black Cape’s is usually $30, and damn near impossible to get. They typically have a smaller run of 300?
I think Brendon mentioned that his cover for 15 will pair with his cover for 14. Guessing the same cost?
Comic blend is $20. Unsure of the others so far.
Some of these covers I hope they get more creative. I love siktc and I like Erica but wish they’d do more for the covers besides “Erica looking cool” my personal favorite was the Frany one for 13
