40 page one shot coming in November from Marc Guggenheim. Touches on Hidden Empire and sets up the future of Star Wars at Marvel. Kind of like those “Marvel Point One” and the like.

Posted this on instagram yesterday but three new omnibus editions were announced for 2023 yesterday. Doctor Aphra Vol II, Empire Vol II, and The New Republic Vol II

Two things that stand out to me:
- This appears to signal that the current run of Doctor Aphra will end in October
- From a speculation standpoint I think The New Republic vol. II is a pretty solid pickup.
The reason I like the new republic book (other than its got a ton of cool stories in it) is that it collects Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command, Dark Empire I, and Dark Empire II.
Getting all of those individual issues is expensive. The Trade paperbacks are expensive and hard to find. And the Epic collections (New Republic Vol 4 and 5) that have those books are crazy expensive and hard to find. You’d think Thrawn showing up in live action and any reference to stuff that happened in Dark empire in a show (even just a minor character) will make them even harder to find.
I really don’t like suggesting to buy anything because who knows really but in terms of potential I think The New Republic Vol II omnibus is a pretty solid bet to go up in value. Again, I’m not the only one who probably thinks this so maybe it gets overprinted. Regardless its gonna be a big seller.

Gist is an incredible artist and that 1:50 is beautiful but Stott for the win here since she actually put Fennec on the cover.
I miss classic Muppet yoda. Don’t care for CGI prequel trilogy yoda.

Well she already had her 1st cover, it was one of the Sprouse variants. Still a cool cover.
yeah its mainly that it’s her first appearance in a story and she’s a pretty big character so I feel like she should be on the cover. At least with the Armorer there was a lot of competition considering her first was issue #1.
Would really like to see the artists get a bit more creative. Art has been cool but it’s just Mando standing there most of the time.
There is a Doctor Aphra #26 solicited for November, so doesn’t look like #25 will be the last issue.
yeah i saw that. That makes me think that that run has a long way to go if they are truly printing a 1-25 omnibus.

I like these. The Marvel Special Edition Star Wars homage (or whatever you wanna call it) is pretty cool.
And it’s a beauty!
