Wellā¦the bar has been set really low so far this yearā¦
It makes sense that it would have a fairly big opening. To be honest the only reason I watched was because Spectrun now has Disney +as part of their subscription so I got it back that way. I wasnāt going to pay for D+ on its own again but that being said I was more happy to finish the Bad Batch and finally watch X-Men 97 more than anything else. As far as the Acolyte goes, it was OK. Nothing great but nothing awful. The real test will be how many viewers stick around the next few episodes. Does the show gain steam or will it be more like the Rings of Power where a large percentage didnāt even bother to finish it.
Ok that third episode made no sense. If everything happened as depicted then why would Torbin be so consumed with guilt that he would need Maeās forgiveness and would rather take poison than speak about what happened?
Good point, but I think thereās more backstory hereā¦how did they all end up dead from a fire started by a child? Isnāt it all rock and bricks on a mountain?
The devastation did not match how it started, and how fast it spread. So there has to be more to tell there. At least nothing in that ending adds up at the moment.
Plus in some of the trailers thereās a quick scene where Kelnacca is coming at Torbin with his light Sabre as if attacking him. The back flashes are not over.
But it would seem that Mother Koril is likely the Sith Lord. Which just seems too obvious to me this earlyā¦
We only saw one point of view. We will likely get more in the coming weeks.
Also, these people hooded and in all black were hanging out and then seemed to disappear when the Jedi arrived.
Well, not great. thatās all I can say about episode three.
Letās say I am not all that excited for the next episode.
And yāall thought the prequels were bad.
Disney canāt get out of their own way.
Iām behind on lots of Star Wars stuff, but I liked Episode 3.
Filoni had to fix a lot of it with Clone Wars, but the prequels arenāt a mess like the sequels.
This show is fine. Itās nothing amazing but itās not as terrible as the click-bait YouTube stuff wants everyone to believe.
I know it is getting blasted on the olā Twitter
No one hates star wars more than star wars fans
there really wasnāt anything redeemable. Iām not lighting a torch and grabbing a pitchfork but it was still pretty bad.
If nothing else it just totally undermines the significance of Anakin.
Not really. Nobody is saying they were the chosen ones. What it possibly signifies, though, is that Plagueis is around. If the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis, which Palpatine told to Anakin, is correct, Plagueis could create life.
I donāt see how them being created diminishes Anakinās importance.
I think with most, in Anikinās case it was supposed to be something in line with immaculate conception. So special and significant it was a one time in the history of the universe type of event.
Itās still not clear on how they were created. If the show tries to feed us that they are also vergences like Anakin, then yeah, itās dumb and undermines his significance. I tend to think this is Plagueis up to something, rather than a being conceived by the midichlorians like Anakin.
Iām giving the show time to play out. If it sucks, it sucks. Iām not going to waste my time or blood pressure getting worked up and posting about all the reasons it sucks, though. Seems dumb to want to replay all that over and over in your head.
I just sort of tune out and watch all of these days and take it as it comes.
Having said that, does anyone remember the various trailers for the computer game āOld Republicā. They are still out there on youtube. There are few different ones but I especially love āSacrificeā, āHopeā, and āReturnā.
Those trailers had more emotion/story/Star Wars/conflict,etc captured in just a brief segment than much of this new stuff has in entire episodes.
Itās just so odd to me that all the talking heads canāt get it together and bring something like that to the big screen. Heck, Iād be happy with the animation style CGI of those trailers if it had to be.
Anyway, just in case anyone hasnāt seen these beforeā¦go check them out. They are so cool.
Same. It is what it is. Not going to improve my mental or physical health getting worked up about a science fantasy property that is an escape. If itās something I donāt like anymore, Iāll move onto something else.
