Star Wars: The High Republic

Yep. First Ty Yorrick is good spec. We’ve seen Jedi and we’ve seen Sith and bounty hunters. A jaded, lost Jedi monster hunter? That has TV Show written all over it.

These guys are worth keeping an eye on too. The crew of The Vessel (Leox Gyasi, Affie Hollow, and Geode) are the closest we’ve come to the spaceship crew trope ala Millenium Falcon, Ghost, Ebon Hawk, etc. so far. People love unwashed rabble and scoundrels on misadventures.

Like I said, I didn’t want to go too deep into it, otherwise the list gets long quick.

Is that this one, or an incentive?

Star Wars High Republic #12 (Artist a Variant)

The A cover is good too.

High Republic #10 Unknown Comics Turini variant. I have to say, I’m not pumped on this variant so I probably won’t buy it. It’s Avar Kriss (again) and the pose and likeness look pretty cheesecake if you ask me. Mix that with Unknown’s idiotic stance on NYCC and it’s an easy pass not to support this.

Anyway, here it is for posterity.

I wish people would just stop buying these store variants.

With this one and me, you have your wish.

That is about as likely as people stop getting FOMO fever every time KCC puts out an alert, lol!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - anything that keeps a percentage of collectors concentrating on KCC/store variants/modern 9.8/hot covers means more opportunity and less competition on silver, bronze, copper. So im fine with all the external noise that keeps others distracted

Before the preview, let’s get first appearances and other key events out of the way. Unless something sneaky happens in next week’s Star Wars comic releases (which is unlikely seeing as none are set in the High Republic era) this will be the first appearance of Jedi Knight Emerick Caphtor and private eye, Sian Holt. Both make their first cover appearances on each of the available comics, so pick you favorite and if the Tedesco ratio variantis available for a decent price, grab that.

We also get a glimpse of Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm’s corpse. Along with his former Padawan Bell Zettifar lying next to him unconscious as Stellan Gios and Indeera Stokes look on.

Loden Greatstorm has already made a cameo in Star Wars High Republic Adventures #7. Cavan Scott killed him off in Star Wars: The High Republic: The Rising Storm. So, it seems unlikely he’s coming back to play much of a part in the greater High Republic story. This, however is Bell Zettifar’s first cameo in comics! It’s also Indeera Stokes’ first cameo in comics! What’s also interesting is that we don’t know what killed Loden. Marchion Ro, leader of the Nihil, unleashed a nameless, terrifying creature/force of nature that we know little about. It looks like Emerick and Sian are on the case to track down that creature!

We all truly appreciate the work you put in here, but I’ve never noticed or acknowledged your the Star Wars font you use in the pics. Just excellent.
