My take on what Wanted Comix said was that he considers his #2 exclusive to be the first cover where its actually the character in action and fleshed out or something rather than a concept design sketch?
I honestly don’t think store exclusives should count as 1st covers. It HAS to be open order or ratios. I’ve seen at least a couple other “first covers” being touted by these stores in the past several months. I forget the characters name, but the other one I can for sure recall is the Mike Mayhew High Republic issue with the black hooded dude with the sharp teeth.

Yeah, just hot air… you can’t claim #2 store exclusive variant is actual first cover when she’s on #1 ratio variant… that came out way before his. Doesn’t matter if she’s sitting on the damn toilet on the first issue, an appearance is an appearance… Geebus the nerve of some, that’s pure pump and dump if that’s the intent!

Why should the cover being an exclusive disqualify it? Still a comic published by Marvel.
Didn’t the whole store exclusive debate rage over what counted as the first cover appearance of Knull? Some said a store variant and some said the third printing of issue 3?

My LCS dropped the ball on my FOC List of (x5) of Cover B (Jeanty Variant) on Star Wars High Republic #10, but Thank You to Villian Gaming, for being able to allow me to order multiple copies.
