Pop Kill? TFAW stiffing you guys on your smut is the last straw
Yes. I want my nudies
I’m still pretty green on ordering comics. I havent ordered much from TFAW. I grabbed some things the last time they had a big sale but I’ve never done their pre-orders. ThirdEye has saved me a couple of times when I missed pre-ordering something and was scrambling to find a copy. Most recently for a copy of the Assorted Crisis Events #1 that started getting scarce.
Regarding the Pop Kills, I had pre-orders from DCBS and MidTown. The DCBS ones (1 each of the A, B, & D covers) got here on the west coast March 4th and the MidTown B cover that I late ordered to get a 2nd copy got here March 14th. I didn’t get any incentives. My biggest gripe with DCBS is they mark those up higher than anyone else. ThirdEye has been a great fall back option so far. Also I like their little stickers they use on bags. TFAW I could take or leave.
Did anyone get any reg CVR/Ratios Last Boy #1?. Not getting the Hughes 1:25 really urks me…
What is this? @Drill423
This is what I can’t wrap my brain around. I can order hot books line after FOC and have a better success to cancellation rate than I do with TFaW pre-FOC orders.
How is it possible they arise people on open order book? What system are they using that ends up with so many orders unfulfilled?! Yet every other big online retailer like MCS and Midtown is nearly 100% (you ordered it, you get it)?
It’s the same reason why we have some good owners and LCSs and others that don’t deserve to be in business. We have some LCS owners here visiting this site? My question to them is, is it really that hard to run a successful business? My assumption is that you just need to treat your customers right, fulfill their orders and run a smooth business. If things are out of your control your customers will understand when you have a history of doing things the right way.
The problem I see is that some of these owners went into the business of comics because they had a passion for it but they had no idea how to run a successful business and don’t give a damn about customer service. One of my LCS here is gone out of business and closed last month. The owner took over a very successful LCS after the original owner retired. In a few short years he ran the store to the ground. He treated his store like his personal man cave and chased variants for his own personal collection so overordered on all kinds of useless junk. Routinely took hot books out of his subscibers pull box and sold them. His subscibers slowly withered away and never came back and the shop had to go out of business.
The margins are small for comic book shops and you really have to do it because you love the business. Can’t be chasing away your customers like that. Most people in life just don’t complain, they just leave and never come back.
I did

Shocked not shocked
Just came to post that myself…whoah…well…I guess I’ll be checking out that place ya’ll recommended regardless now.
WOW, that is wild as I just got this message too.
TFAW has been DENIED
Pretty brutal to tell us a WEEK before shutdown. Maybe let us know last month? Going to be pretty hard to get 4-6 weeks of post-FOC books onto pre-order somewhere else.
TFAW was pretty good for the most part and really easy to use.
yea just saw and kinda sucks its so short notice. gotta track down my preorders prior to the shutdown date SMH.
Yeah… I’ll be screwed on quite a few of the preorders I had in.
What can you do though? First world problems and all I suppose…in some cases I tend to double up with my LCS thankfully.
hardest things of course will be ratios and later printings and small pubs that are well past FOC.
Well that does explain a lot and they found a way to f—k regulars one last time.
I guess I’m not getting my Pop Kill book…
Same.
