A spinoff of The Batman, described as a “Scarface-like” series about the rise of the Penguin character. The Penguin, otherwise known as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, is a dapper mob boss and one of Batman’s primary villains.
I could see it being good.
Why ??? Besides being a ‘Godfather’ type ganglord, I cant understand why he is a Batman arch-villain. I struggle with Joker being a Batman villain.
This is similar to the Owl and Daredevil. Atleast, he (the Owl) has claws, but I dont see the big deal.
I’m not sure if they were going for something “extra” with the Penguin in this latest movie, but it seemed over-acted (poorly acted) to me.
Best comic series that I have read in regards to the life of the Penguin is “Penguin: Pain and Prejudice”. It shows how the Penguin became “the Penguin”. Hopefully we can see some of that in this new movie.
Could see this as a standalone movie, like Joaquins Joker.
Loved this actress in the Black Mirror homage to Star Trek.
