Crazy that he would say that and offer 10 packs of all “hot” books :man_facepalming:
It’s like he’s biting the hand that feeds him lol

I ordered on FOC (7/27) so I should have had no issues.

Shouldn’t but if you ordered from the wrong pre-order link, since they had duplicates themselves. Same type of scenario with Unknown. TFAW had a hiccup, probably placed FOC based on the valid pre-order link but not the other, now they’re all in limbo.

Yeah, like I mentioned. Unknown should have just stopped after the 5 minute mark. Acknowledge your own mistake in your own duplicate listing and auditing, tell people you’re going to fix, say your sorry since you can’t fulfill the orders and be done
by him going on for another hour and a half, he just opened more cans of worms for his own words to come back to bite him

I still think it was a mistake but yeah, gotta learn to shut up and move on or your damage control is now tainted by the flip flopping of the words coming out of your mouth.

I bet the unknown thing is my fault. I got 24 copies of legends via their duplicate listing that was up 5 days before release. 24 copies for $100 shipped :star_struck:

Well really it’s CHU’s fault because I would never have known about it if not for the members here :+1::+1::+1:

Now you sound like my wife
 everything is my fault. Everything
she can stub her toe at work 20 miles away and it’s my fault

And pick up some milk on your way home!!:joy:

I told you all he cancelled months of my unfulfilled orders because I called him out on his shipping policy stated on his website he wasn’t adhering to with my orders for regular covers being months after release with no shipping information updated.

If you watched the video, he stated that 2018 was awful year for Unknown and actually owned up to their mishaps for such huge shipping delays and such. I gotta give the guy credit for owning up to that.

We all hate on shipping times but I’m ready to kill my family after packing 11 orders it’s so time consuming and mundaneđŸ˜”

Oh I hate packing up books
that’s the worst part about selling. The other worst part about it is, my only real space is out in my garage where there’s no AC and it’s like 100 degrees with 1,000,000,000% humidity
 during the summer months.

I love the fact that I can make my hobby pay for itself but I could not agree more about all the packing, it’s very time consuming and aggravating. And I don’t even sell that much stuff, just enough to support my habit and maybe make a few bucks here and there :joy:

I can only imagine these stores that pump out 5 exclusives a week on top of regular and incentive cover online sales. But they know the beast they are unleashing and even with employees quitting pandemics and what not the most important thing is to get your product in customer hands in a timely matter if not you’re just a Comicxsposure clone.

You find some teenagers who are willing to work for minimum wage do your packing. You do the sorting when comics come in, make sure all the orders can be packed and shipped, print up all the orders, have someone pull to group, hand off to packer
 assembly line work
if you’re doing 560 orders a week and lets say on average an order takes 5 minutes to pull and pack, that’s what
12 orders per hour for 1 person
that’s what, 46 hours total time for just pulling and packing books to ship off
so if your employees pull 8 hour shift, it would take one person almost 6 days if they average 5 minutes per order x 8 hour shift.

Add another employee to help out, cuts that 6 days to 3 days. Get someone else to help out, only cuts it down even more. But if you’re doing 560 orders per week (I’m going by what Unknown said they’re averaging or were averaging) and let’s just say for giggles, each order averages 5 books per order and for rounding estimates, most of the books they’re buying for 50% off as retailer, they’re making $2.50 per package. So if you’re paying someone minimum wage, which is what, still $7.25, if they’re consistent in doing an order per every 5 minutes, after 15 minutes of work, the remaining 45 minutes is profit at that point. Say you pay your employee a little better, maybe $10 an hour, after 20 minutes and or 4 packages packed to ship, it’s profit from that point on (after the cost of the books of course

And we all know with Gemini mailers, packing comics can be cut down. That 5 minutes is the sort and pull time estimated as well per order. If it takes you longer to look at order and go find the comics, that’s on you. I would imagine if you’re doing comics and high volume, when books arrive, the first thing you want to do is sort all the books into groups so it’s just a matter of going to grab from box, etc.

IDK know
 I like playing the numbers
these are mostly guesstimates but I do know one thing, if I was a teenager, I’d rather pack and ship comics for minimum wage or $10 an hour than go flip burgers
so help can’t be that hard to find.

I would love to work in a Comic shop I know the comic side and a lot of the gaming side. I could run Magic tournaments and know just about every key comic from looking at the cover alone. No options here for a Comic shop job, the one comic shop we have isn’t much of a shop anymore but a corner in a used record store. I wouldn’t open my own shop in fear of selling my collection to keep the doors open.

I wouldn’t want to run a comic shop. Maybe if I amassed a huge collection and wanted to sit in my shop all day reading comics, slowly selling off my collection (hiring the teenagers to to all the grunt work)

I make plenty of money in the tech industry
comic books are hobby money. If I can buy some extra books to sell to buy more books and or save up for vacations, that’s why I flip. I originally came to CHU to just find good books to read. I figured if they were hot, that means the story was likely good
boy did that turn out to be wrong in some cases. Even in the past 7 years of being on CHU, what was once a hot book based on the story and such is now just books being hot and speculated due to the “potential first appearance in it” and people going crazy for a character that’s barely shown up in the issues or story yet (hrmm
 cough cough
 Punchline)
