Thor 6 Skroce (Spoiler) Variant

They refund a cover A or a 1:25?

1:25 but it’s not because of those limits it’s because I used the same account on two incentive variants. I still ended up with two from modtown one on both accounts.

Ah ok

Wait…did Midtown (the distributor) tell you that the distributor allocated them on a DC title? Umm…

Yep hahaha that’s exactly what they told me.

I got the same email. Midtown has some explaining to do. How hard is it for the ā€˜brain trust’ at Midtown to set rules BEFORE taking an order based on the RULES - especially on a ā€˜hot’ book? It looks cheesy and disrespectful to customers when you do this. I am learning comic order is not governed by programmatic rules but subjective rules.

I get it. But it let me order off the same account on 2 different orders. So … I ā€˜ass’ume I am good with both orders since it let me. To find out 1 week later it is not ok is BS.

Fortunately I wasn’t greedy and just ordered 1 1:25 and 2 cover As. Haven’t checked my email though…

Midtown wising up to our antics now.

I get it. But they should not take your order in the first place. I was able to make 2 separate orders oN the same account.

I think the whole thing is extra funny because my copy of legends 1:25 on the other account arrived today, my main account they still haven’t shipped like 6 orders that were previous. My main account was the first to buy the 1:25 variant but apparently the last to get it shipped:

I have no idea why they ship one account ups and one usps I have no settings attached to my account that would do this weird shipping two companies on the same exact order for two different accounts.

The UPS they shipped in a box for me…the USPS was a Gemini mailer. Is that the same for you?

Yep and the box always gets trashed and the Gemini is unscathed

That’s hilarious that Midtown said the books was allocated. I got my reorder this week from UCS.
Sounds like Midtown is holding back copies…

Can Midtown do that ? Hold back copies customers already allocated ?

It’s sad but also a good thing if you ask me… if they’re allocating themselves, then that’s a sign they treat their own account like everyone else. Now, if it’s lies by them, then we got a whole set of new problems…

I think that allocation, from a distributor, is just a cop-out for stores to use because of/during this Covid garbage. I would think it would be extremely rare for the actual distributor to not send a store what was ordered, wouldn’t it? I mean a copy here or there I guess for titles that have had small runs in the near past, but alternate printings? Either the distributor is controlling the actual numbers being sent out to create FOMO, or the company (Marvel,DC) is telling the distributor to only send out ā€œxā€ amount.

If store A has 50 preorders, and decides to order another 50 for the shelves/themselves, and they would be allocated, one would think the preorders would be filled by obligation and the allocation would come off of themselves. The only other alternative would be the store determining to allocate so that they can make more money.

Is this generally correct logic?

This is exactly what I would think. If you take the order, then it is an obligation to fulfill - or else don’t take the order.

Please don’t post links to pump n dump YouTube videos, please. If people want to view that on their own, that is fine. But I don’t think it’s right to be on here promoting these YouTube rumour factory grifters on CHU. It would behoove all of us if we were to think for ourselves, instead of following these grifters. If you are getting your spec from a youtuber, you’ve already lost. M2c.

Someone sent it to me. Sorry, had not looked at this Youtube site before. I was not fully aware he was a pump and dump.
