Wasnāt planning on taking a vacation. My wife is having surgery on the 9th and this was our only chance this summer to get away.

My shop puts out books on Tuesday afternoons now. If thereās something āspecificā like a first appearance I may be able to look, but youād have to get them in by 4pm.
Nothing in depth. Probably just take photos of a couple pages. Is there anything good this week?

Wishing my best to you and your wife! Enjoy the vacation and try not to stress too much!
I am way stressed. It is performance evaluation time for my day job, so I have to write performance evals for people who are under performing, and know it, but are surprised by when their evals are below standards. Couple that with the surgery, and the anniversary of my dadās passing, and this is a hard time for me. Trying to be positive but fall short more times than not.

Those are the worst (performance reviews).
Been doing for over 20 years.
Finally, finally, finally, my company changed to a monthly discussion format instead of yearly performance so there are no shockers at performance time.
The Monthly discussion thing is much much better and actually fairer to the employee and the manager.

I do weekly and monthly touch points with the employees. Some I check in with daily. But still there are surprises.

My favourite is doing the performance evals, taking the time to put some thought into, generate stats and analytics to back up my statements, dig into it to come up with positive to go with the negatives and then come up with recommendations and remuneration scale from best to worst and have it all utterly and completely ignored by the suits. Love having my time wasted.

Big business is such a load.
Iām so glad Iām finally out of it.
Being able to state the obvious is not something one can do.
An employee that sh*ts in the corner of the room is not a good employee. Period.
I shouldnāt have to āmeasureā that with metrics and dashboards.
But ohhhhhā¦ the lawsuits and depositions. Canāt have that

The two biggest spoilers of the week are:
Hellfire Vigil #1 - Eternity gives Storm a vision of her future to keep her motivated. She is introduced to her daughter Furaha. She has Stormās blue eyes, but her dadās black hair and fangs - she also says she has both their powers.
Batgirl #9 - Cassandra travels to Richard Dragonās ranch to confront Bronze Tiger about who is the āJade Tigerā in her motherās journal. She attacks him only for his son to come to his defense. She realizes he has been trained by Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and Lady Shiva.Bronze Tiger tries to stop him from revealing his identity, but he reveals himself as Tenji Turner (Jade Tiger) and he is her 1/ brother - he is the child of Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva.
Also 1st appearance of the Three Swords - assassins looking to end the Shiva bloodline.

@Bill I work for the state government, even worse. I have an employee that sleeps on the job and has been caught multiple times, cannot fire her. She is a terrible worker, cannot fire her. She messes up cases left and rightā¦ Cannot fire her Her performance evaluation was done honestly and fairly, I dinged her in the spots she is deficit in and gave her honest scores where she does ok. Needless to say, I would have to lie to give her a bad score to try and fire her (unsuccessfully). Also, she is on probationā¦
That is pretty much how I feel, I write these out, provide examples of why I give the scores that I do, and all people do is argue them or they are disregarded by personnel
