WandaVision

They one in the same

Here a couple of interesting factiods to go with a Samhain appearance. Please note that when I mention Agnes I am talking about the Wandavisiom iteration of Agatha Harkness, and Agatha = comic source material.

This is from V+SW Vol 2 #5 (I think)

Note that this book takes place on Halloween :jack_o_lantern: (which just happens to be one of the key moments of Wandavision so far.)

Also, I know this show is billing Agnes as the villain, and the MCU isn’t entirely beholden to the comics, but Agatha isn’t a villain in the comics so far as I can tell. I almost wonder if Agnes in Wandavision is being controlled by another, more powerful being.

This not only mentions a book that Samhain is tied to (as possibly seen in Wandavision) but also mentions Samhain’s control over molecules with the show has mentioned a dozen times. He also appears as to look like a goat :goat: which we can see in Agnes’ “basement”.

Now, I won’t put it past Disney to use elements of Samhain to create an MCU version of Mephisto. All the emphasis on Mephisto could be a Disney doing doing their best Allen Iverson crossover to get us leaning one way only break our ankles and dunk on us with (insert suprise here).

I feel like Agatha is too important to the mystical side of Marvel as a hero, and also has major ties to the FF, that they won’t just completely upend her character like this for the Wandavision series. The FF have a well known origin that likely won’t be retold (just like with Spider-Man in the MCU) so perhaps they are introduced as already having existed in the MCU, just in a different dimension? They can introduce them in a way that doesn’t need an origin story like Cap, Iron Man, etc needed in the early days of the MCU. They are no strangers (pun not intended) to the multiverse, they are explorers and scientists. I still hold out hope that the major cameo is the FF or Reed Richards.

I didn’t realize that, but I also haven’t watched Agents of Shield.

Until Chthon finds a way to truly free himself from his other-dimensional realm, he can operate on Earth through his elemental host, known as the Other, which is summoned when someone uses the Darkhold. The Other can manifest itself in any appearance it wants, but its actions on the Earthly sphere are generally limited by the demands of the user of the Darkhold. If the proper rituals are performed, Chthon can also take over mortal host-bodies on Earth, but he can not easily transfer all of his totality to these forms, and often even the fraction he can is too much for the form to contain.

Agatha may not be a villain on the show. It might be she is being manipulated just like Wanda. That’s why she has her own “show” Agatha All Along.

Agatha has very much been a villian in the books, but, she has also been a good guy in the books. She is a witch. She does what she needs to do, and chooses which side best fits her current needs.

I don’t think we will be seeing Chthon until the Eternals, with the Celestials Second Host Event, and the Cult of the Dark Holders in Atlantis.

Here is a good read, if you are interested in the rich, extensive history of the Marvel Universe.

Reading the books is a speculators best tool to reap profits from their hobby. (reap…see what I did there?)

That is the best analogy I’ve read in a long, long time. Amazingness.
That analogy is game time, baby. We not talkin’ 'bout practice. :100::rofl:

These shows just make comic collecting so much fun. Sure there is spec, the fun of seeing books increase in value too, but I love having my mind opened up to new characters and stories I wasn’t even aware of. It’s fun reading through these old books whilst looking for any new detail.

As a Sixers fan, much respect to you for making this analogy work.

There’s one topic that was brought up early when this series 1st began and I still wonder about. This series supposedly cost nearly (or more?) to make than Endgame.
Although there are special effects, I would say it is in no way a special effect laden series so far. I’m not sure where the “costs more to make than Endgame” can possibly come from? Unless huge … and I mean huge things are coming in the last few episodes.

Not sure it reached the budget of Endgame, but this series is definitely costly. Nine episodes averaging about 35 min which is about 5 and a half hours. That’s close to the run time of three MCU films. On top of that, this is not a traditional “TV” series in quality. If you compare this to Agents of Shield, the production on WandaVision blows it out of the water. This is a huge focus of Disney+ to create film quality shows, so their budgets will reflect that.

I thought somewhere about the VFX in Wandavision is more than Endgame? I dunno - perhaps I’m incorrect with what I read. If that is true though, just not seeing how possible… so far

No, you are correct. I read that somewhere also. The last two episodes HAVE to some heavy VFX…

Even in Marvel things Disney villains get the best song. I’m going to have that stuck in my head all weekend.

I have liked Agnes as a character since the beginning but that Lilly Munster theme they did along with her saying “and I killed Sparky” was just awesome.

I was thinking about Sparky last night. I wonder if he was an avatar or undercover agent of a good magic user trying to find out what is going on in Westview?

Agnes could have killed Sparky just to be a butt hole, but I wonder if there is a bigger reason behind it.

Agathas whole introduction sequence was amazing. I was just out shoveling the driveway quietly singing it as I worked. :notes:it’s been Agathaaa all along :notes:
