Start speculation on the Wizard of Oz!
I didn’t go too heavy on spec with this series, but the ones I did didn’t pan out. I aint mad in the least. Excellent series and leaves more story to be told in Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2. We live in an amazing day and age. Growing up with these comic books and characters, not sure we could have predicted this. Appreciate it people!
For me personally, there wasn’t a single book that I overpaid on, or regret getting in hindsight.
Even books that didn’t pan out are great additions to my collections.
Great series and some fun cheap comics to go along with it. Win/Win!!!
This show really helped push some West Coast Avengers back issues, that is impressive!
Liked the show a lot. It overall wasn’t disappointed and I like where the characters overall are heading. I was a little disappointed in Ralph Bohner. I’m hoping it’s open ended enough that maybe he leads somewhere still.
I loved the ending. Very sad. As for spec, I didn’t go in on any of the books. Was too much of a risk. I own a Silver Surfer #3. Picked it up well in advance of the show and not because of the show. I love Mephisto, and he is getting a lot of use in the comics. So how is it doing? Just fine, along with the rest of my Silver Surfer 1-4. Doing just fine.
Whooaaaaaaa what a show! Ummmm two end credit scenes. One with a Skrull talking to Monica saying she was sent by an old friend of her mothers and wants to meet with her. Monica says “where” and the Skrull points to the sky and Monica smiles and that scene ends
The 2nd scene has Wanda in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, she gets up off the porch to get the tea kettle and then the camera moves around to the bedroom and we see another Wanda in her full Scarlet Witch gear sitting on something surrounded by runes of chaos magic and flipping through the pages of The Darkhold, we then hear Tommy and Billy both say Help! Mom! Please! and it ends.
Sweeeeet
Yes. They were awesome. You know who the movie theatre lady was talking about had to be Captain Marvel.
Silver Surfer #3, 1st appearance of Mephisto, is, and always will be, a great book to own. Im not so sure you can ever say a Silver Age key from '68 is a bad book to own.
Loved the series. Great run. I think the biggest take away should be the fact that the book in Agathas basement was indeed the Darkhold. That alone opens up so, so, so many doors for the MCU. Many of which were speculated on for WandaVision, yet didn’t materialize in the series. It will be interesting to see how the Darkhold MCU spec pans out moving forward. Atlantis? Namor? Wundagore Mountain? Magneto? Chthon? Mephisto? Ghost Rider? Midnight Sons? Eternals?
May explain this “huge run”? I have one copy but will prob buy more. It’s a good price, when you consider the age.
I have one. Paid $1 for it. It was an issue I always wanted so…
I’ve seen quite a few comments with a bit of a “haha speccers…you all lose, etc” mentality.
In my opinion, 90% of the “spec” and comics related to Wandavision are still great books to own. There were very few of these comics that created wasteful spending or a situation of regret. I suppose the White Vision issue is a bit absurd at over a hundred but it is still a cool issue to have in your collection. For the most part, I think most folks had this or found it cheap.
If you think about the spec: Mephisto, Chthon, Darkhold, Mordred the Mystic, Agnes, Blue Marvel, Immortus, House of M, Nexus, any vision or Scarlet Witch covers or books…
These are all still great comics and have potential and will remain popular imo. Even for these books that shot up in value relatively speaking…none of them shot up to absurd levels that would cause crazy regret.
Really liking how Byrne’s WCA run is getting on people’s radar!
I was thinking it was Fury because this is a couple weeks before Spider-man Far From Home and we see at the end Fury is in space and we dont know where Captain Marvel is.
And I agree most of the “spec” books in this series are still great books to have in your collection. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode the fights the end credits etc. Now on to the next show… I wonder how all the spec plays out for Falcon & The Winter Soldier.
It is Fury he was last on the Sword space station
Awesome show, from 1st to last episode. The scene with both Visions talking about the ship of theseus paradox was very cool.
didn’t chase any spec books, I have a couple already but, agreed, nice books to have in the PC. Since some of that spec didnt quite pan out, maybe I can grab them on the cheap in a few weeks.
Either way. Monica is a great character so I hope she keeps a prominent role.
Also the lady in the theatre said “he” so it’s definitely not Danvers.
Possible speculation that I just researched myself and could be complete bunk:
As has been said it’s Fury AND Captain Marvel is there as well on a space station. It’s possible Fury is working on putting together some sort of the later version of Alpha Flight. The space program one which was led by Carol Danvers and worked on a space station to monitor galactic threats.
We have SWORD introduced. Abigail Brand later on took over the Alpha Flight space program for Captain Marvel when everyone found out she was a Kree. When Earth was invaded by Thanos during Infinity, Abigail sent a request to the Guardians of the Galaxy for help who were then also helped by Angela. Now we have had Thanos so it could be someone like Kang instead. Interestingly enough, Abigail Brand appears in an episode of Avengers Earths Mightiest heroes. The episode is called “Welcome to the Kree Empire”, she appears as a member of S.W.O.R.D. working aboard Kang the Conqueror’s former ship, the Damocles.
