I like some of his stuff. Some I’m not so keen on… it’s hit or miss. He’s fun to talk to though. Certainly the type of guy you can go hang and have a beer with.

I have heard Cates is a very nice person in general. I like hearing that as it sucks to hear some creators you like are awful people. John Bryne sounds like he’s never had a good story told about him. He’s just mean, unpleasant, rude, and so forth.

Before he was at Marvel, he did a signing at local shop and no one was around. Ended up talking 18 Wheelers with him and such for like 30 minutes because we somehow found out both our dads drove them. Good guy for sure… he loves what he does now. Hate his writing if you want but don’t hate him as a person until you know them.

John Bryne was an awesome guy when I met him at a convention, once of those small rooms where he talked about his career and then spent a while talking with fans and taking photos afterwards.

I don’t hate Cates. He seems to be having fun. Haven’t heard anything bad about him as a person.
Save the hate for people who rip off other artists. Or rip off convention tables. Or both in the case of S#yd@m, allegedly.

I dislike Beau Smith, he and I got into it years ago online. HE was supposed to be the toughest guy in comics but could not take criticism, to be fair it was about how I thought he ruined Guy Gardener when he made him into the Ultimate Warrior. But yeah, threatened to punch me, I laughed and said try to find me in a country this big would be very difficult. Just a blow hard.

I guess this is the best category to place this, but Z2 puts out some pretty cool Music artist graphic novels. Tori Amos Little Earthquakes is the latest. I missed out on the signed Deluxe version, but with David Mack cover art and Neil Gaiman writing I’m considering the Deluxe Edition. At a bare minimum the Hardcover. Just wanted folks to know who may be interested.

Normally their exclusives have been limited to either 5 or 10, depending on the size they ordered.
