We all hate store variants but

No worries about getting CGC Purple label… the more staples you add the more you can demand.

CGC doesn’t care anymore. The more submissions the more revenue and profit they make… this is why they’re a joke of a company!

“Darth Blackstone” wants the money rolling by ANY MEANS while saying “Excellent” ala Mr Burns :grinning:

Now I can move all my short box of Harley rebirth #1 just need to add acetate covers.

The only good part is if you make a list of the Ebay sellers who are selling this book raw or graded you don’t have to do any biz with them. Plus we might now know the anonymous accounts of influences who say they don’t sell on Ebay…

Start a new fad. Get a custom foil sticker that looks like a stamp to put on them and sell them that way… way less money spent = higher profit margins.

The problem with the fair use argument is it is not 100% a lock. And the bigger problem with the fair use argument is that you have to show up in court to actually use the defense. With that being said you already need a lawyer for this and would have racked up a ton of legal fees. By that point you are probably better off just settling the lawsuit and save yourself money.

When Comic Influencers hook up with Store Variants/Selling Platforms and turn into “Penny Stock Promoters” and people are willing to give them their hard earned dollars can’t feel bad for them.

Will Noob collectors get hurt YES. But we were all noob collectors at one point.

BTW In the finance world if you are looked at as a Penny Stock Promoter let’s just say it’s not a good stigma to have

I just saw a youtube video where the buyer explains how frustrating it was waiting in line however he then proceeds to buy a CGC 9.8 for $500 of the acetate cover. FOMO is problem in this industry.

He could have bought the real deal UF4 2nd print CGC 9.8 $499… without the extra staples.

But like you said FOMO is real

For those hard of seeing: “CGC is fully aware of what we graded and stand behind them.”

That is a 100% Grade A 9.8 Mint Authentic Counterfeit! Not the same thing!

CGC graded them as Counterfeit, big difference. This book is not fully counterfeit as the comic underneath is 100% authentic, however, it has been altered and should not be graded as a 9.8 9.9 or 10.0

Well, they’re not slowing down - just saw their “exclusives” for Boston posted to the Facebook group… “Revision acetates” for $100 a pop… with separate lines for “collectors” and “influencers” as though that were the issue.

If people buy them, then we’re somewhat just bringing this on ourselves…
