We all hate store variants but

SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #16 IVAN TAO VARIANT - The Comic Book Dealer store variant

I’m not a fan of store variants outside of number one issues or first appearances.

Im just going to leave a thought for you all…

Dont buy when hype is high. If every hole-in-the-wall “store” is having a store variant for a book, AVOID IT.

I agree but some of them are awful pretty.

SIKTC is like Game of Thrones in my life. I missed the start because I had stuff going on. People started talking about it and I thought I could catch up. Then I let it slip for a while longer and we’re now on issue 16. By this time I’m just an outside observer to the buzz. Maybe I’ll download it this weekend and catch up, but I’ll probably never buy the individual issues. I missed all spec on this.

I think #16 was the last one before forgoing store exclusives.

I guess you passed on all regulars, exclusives and ratios for Star Wars High Republic #1 then because the hype was so high? :stuck_out_tongue:

Erica Slaughter is such a badass-looking character. I need a cover to blow me away in this sea of amazing SIKTC exclusives.

My last count has 21 covers released for SIKTC16. Fun to watch them all roll in at once when Boom finally gave the ok to reveal. Keep an eye on print runs for these, as they vary drastically.

Frankies, Comic Blend, ECGCE, and Oasis are the winners for me, but to each their own! I do appreciate the different approaches and artistic styles here.

Sold Out. Potential 1st cover appearances here.

The prices on the Horn books are outrageous

Why are they doing that?

That Horn book is terrible. First off DC never made cards in that design
… that’s Marvel… second the Margot Robbie computer layover looks bad… third it just looks bad to ME. That’s an easy pass I dont think it will sell out. Should a have at least made it like the company’s own trading cards original

Trading card gimmick for covers? Cornyyy

I’ve just started getting in the habit of finding images from the same artists that I already own and looking at those when tempted by new store variants:

Death of Wolverine 1

See i mentioned how it’s lazy to do “trading card” variants. This is only a 2 cover book set. So one has the trading card border, the other doesn’t. His last miles book was the first to do this trading card crap. I called it lazy also. Guess I struck a nerve in his Facebook group. They muted me for 24 hours after i mentioned it and calling it bullshit and lazy lol
