Did he die or just go through a portal and never return again?
Well he got skewered by Wolverine and won a fight ‘to the death’ by dying.
Then again maybe he will change his name to Loki and come back again in the MCU.

I remember seeing summoners in the latter X of Swords books but not the “High Summoner”.
Honestly a lot of really cool characters were introduced during X of Swords. The story itself reminded me of Hanna-Barbera’s Laff-A-Lympics for some reason.

In regards to X-Men #12, there are MANY first appearances including Genesis/Annihilation, White Sword, and Isca the Unbeaten. Also, the High Summoner’s “appearance of death” in Wolverine #7 was in Blightspoke ( the realm of collapsed realities). As mentioned above a comic book death means nothing.
