They are justifying it by charging less than eBay prices. It’s robbery. Thank god I have 22 copies on order.
So far 2 of my Spawn 309Bs are being shipped (no tracking yet, but I did get emails stating such today). The other three are noted as “preparing for shipment)…

Yeah I preorder 2 of every issue of spawn that I seen McFarlane doing the cover since Feb no image or not I order his and have on my pull at LCS to double down or get a diff cover so 3 copies every drop. This was my last preorder batch at Midtown and it sucks that they have no short changed local shops only to take that inventory to online at a markup.
my friend ordered the spawn #309 a day or two ago when someone on the forums mentioned that they were back in stock and limit 1 per customer, they canceled his order and relisted the books for 25 USD now. Also, a few weeks back he ordered 2 death metal legends for cover price, and they canceled that and then relisted those books for 12 bucks a piece on their website. Unbelievable.
Both of my orders have processed and are awaiting tracking. That’s usually a good sign.
They processed my order. I ordered 1 copy and a couple other books. They have never cancelled any of my orders before.
So my postman delivered a stack of packages today and said they will only be delivering 1st class packages and Priority mail on Mondays no regular mail or media mail packages will be delivered on Mondays anymore where I live. WTF
Did you ask them why? That is f’d up.
They said the post office is cutting the hours of their drivers by reducing Monday mail carriers by 90%
I wonder what’s going to happens as the mail starts to back up…

Nice. Folded cover is FCBD Spider-Man 2020. Indent is Spawn 309B.
At least my other 4 Spawns I got from them (limit 1) were NM. None were 9.8 candidate. All had a few minor spine ticks that break color.
That fold is not accidental to me. I truly think they’re doing that to prevent people from “reselling” them… Since I had a FCBD book show up with a perfect fold on the cover as well.
@D-Rog My copy of Spawn from Midtown looks almost identical to yours.
For all the copies I tried to preorder, from varied sources, thus far, I’ve had very bad outcomes with that Spawn issue. I have three more still to arrive and I’m hoping they look better than any I’ve gotten thus far. Not holding my breath. Out of all my copies and my endless diatribes about the issue…I wanted just one graded 9.8 to go along with my other Gunslinger graded issues.
Of the other 4 copies I got with my Spawn 309s, only 2 were NM. The others had varying degrees of damage…but not intentional. This is just negligence.
I had to give my best copies to those who ordered pre-sales,…which paid for the entire order anyway.
I have 2 more copies coming in from playsanity…they sent me damaged copies of 308 in weak packaging…but were the only one that had them in stock. Finally got the shipping notification today…let’s see how this turns out.
I am still awaiting my Spawn 309 b issue from Midtown. It’s on the way, so I’m hoping for the best after reading some of this. I did just get 2 copies of cover A of Something is Killing the Children #1 today and they were perfect. Very happy on that one. I was lucky to find them on there for $20 each last week right before midtown upped the price. They have copies still but at $75 a pop. For some reason, they shipped UPS Ground even though I paid for economy shipping- got lucky I guess.
@D-Rog You should get Midtown to replace those Spawns that were damaged. They have copies available for replacements since they’re still trying to sell them at $25 a pop. I would totally ask for replacements and if they refuse, put in a dispute to get a refund.
I know I should hold them accountable on principle. But I also sold it for $15…so made double my cost.
Kind of hard to argue with them I want a replacement when I made money on it… 🤷

They make you pay return shipping if you want a replacement and won’t guarantee you will get one as it depends what’s in stock when they receive and process your package.
