My Dikembe Mutombo story is, I had layover once in Atlanta and as I’m rushing to my gate, in the distance I see this really tall guy. It’s like, holy shit that dude is tall and as he’s getting closer and closer to me, I’m like holy shit in my mind, that’s Dikembe so as I pass by him, we exchange looks, I do the finger wag and he smiled at me… I just kept on to my gate since they always seem to give you 20 minutes to get to your next gate yet it’s a 45 minute walk from one terminal to the next…

I have a Mutombo story for ya. Back when I worked for Nike, I used to be at a store that all the athletes from Baltimore and DC used to come and special order stuff. John Thompson brought Mutombo into the store to special order him shoes. They asked for him to be sized and I was like, we don’t have any sizer big enough to size him. His foot was somewhere around a 22 from what I remember. He was just some humble kid from the Congo when he came in, didn’t;t have basketball shoes. Was the tallest person I had ever seen

Frank Fritz from, “American Pickers,” has passed after complications from a stroke some years ago. I love that show and was bummed when he left/was fired/depends who you asked.

Did Frank just pass? He was asked to leave after an incident with his girlfriend that was hotly contested. Anyway, sad to see him gone, I loved the show. I dream of being a comic picker and driving around the country doing that same thing.

Loved Pickers. Loved it when they’d talk about a good Pick!!
Although at the end of the show when they’d wrap up what they found, and the profit they expected to make…I always thought they were a bit optimistic with what things were worth.

Yeah, it’s still going and still entertaining but it definitely has some different folks on it besides Mike Wolfe and Dani being there from the start.

Oh for sure, just like Storage Wars… they’re just throwing out numbers, most of it was wishful thinking I think. No way some people would pay for the prices they would throw out on the junk they were tossing into the piles while clearing out the lockers.
