I’m in the storage industry and people get caught up in bidding wars, thrill of the hunt, etc. we just had someone pay $600 for a half full (at best) 10x20 unit that was just boxes of old family stuff according to the original owner. It all depends on what is visible from the outside looking in and the neighborhood in which the storage unit is located.
Oh, the bidding wars are one thing, I was talking about when they would show them (the winning bidder of the locker) sorting the stuff inside and they throwing out some high numbers for obvious junk that would never sell for that much for their total tally profit at the end of the show. That always annoyed me cause they were pre-sales, not post sales. Would love to see what the numbers come back at when they actually sell the stuff…

That wouldn’t make for good TV. They probably have made no profit off sales…any positive gains Likely only came from the show.
Antiques roadshow sometimes re-aired re-runs and would provide an updated value for each item…most all go down in predicted value…
They wouldn’t have to reveal on the show but yeah… most watchers probably dont’ care about the actual numbers, they probably watch for the cheesy drama between the main people they follow… and the thrill of the crap they likely throw in the lockers to make it more exciting.
