Just curious how everyones sales have been so far, not sure why but the start of 2025 has been great so far. Sold lots of Invincible books hope this trend continues
I have been selling a lot more on Mercari than eBay. Sales slowed down in February. January was pretty good.
Record month in January (over $5k in sales). Also decided to list a few items on Mercari in January to test it out. Had about $200 in sales. February has slowed tremendously. Lack of hot new books and running out of Mark Spears inventory.
I have been selling a ton of stuff. Mostly action figures still in original unopened packaging. I don’t have the hot comics. I’ve sold West Coast Avengers 7 and a couple of Mark Spears Spawn 356 issues. Can’t complain. I’m almost at $5k in sales. That’s about 100 listings sold so far. I’m running out of shipping boxes, lol.
Geeez 5k sales is incredible, are these mostly high end books over $100. or many smaller transactions.
5k???
You’re all getting 1099’s for 2025 already!!!
Had $1k in sales last month. So far in February its been…slow.
Sold a couple of Archie Valentines books.
Had them up for awhile and was praying they’d sell since today is “kinda the last day” that one would think that they would sell. That is, until next year
Same as everyone, great January, sloooow Feb. Just a couple of $5 book sales lately, one to New Zealand of all things.
From ebay’s website:
There’s that $600… that was to happen like 4 years ago.
I think back in here of the months/years of frustration, aggravation, anger in here (and elsewhere) knowing that stupid number of $600 would be impacting a choice select of us (looking at me) shortly.
The funny thing is, the news was on TV behind me the other day; and I don’t know who it was that said it but the politician was talking about IRS waste and spending and I heard “… going after Grandma for selling her china plates via Venmo for $600”. I nearly busted out laughing. That grandmas story has been used in this forum a number of times.
What a dumbass dollar amount to stick people with, generally speaking. Yea its intended for those with little side gigs, but it totally screws over the majority of people who are just looking to unload things they’ve owned for years. Idiots
Does Mercari work with your ebay account or is Mercari its own thing? Never used Mercari, maybe I should.
Don’t worry…there won’t be enough people left in the IRS to go after grandma by the end of the year…
A sudden drop in the number of employees at the I.R.S. could interfere with the agency’s work to process millions of Americans’ tax returns.
Seems like it’s mostly toys sales, just going by what they actually stated…
Yeah. I have sold only 4 comic books this year. The books I mentioned and one Amazing Spider-man book for $14 that I have had listed for 2 years or so. First Madame Web (modern), of all things, lol. All the other sales have been unopened toys and Lego sets.
It is its own thing but you can import listings from eBay.
Ugh…I had about 150 listings ported in…all the photos were re-Arranged… the shipping all changed to the wrong service and weights…some I had to add words because the description wasn’t long enough…
In the end, I got it done and it was better than starting from scratch…but was t as “clean” as I was hoping…took a few hours.
Made a few small sales since…of course one was a bundle and for some reason it didn’t combine the shipping weight…so the weight was too low….and I couldn’t change it…so I just said “Fuq it” and shipped it with the incorrect weight…crossing my fingers…
Long story short…mercari is a little better than I recall…but still a pain.
Just this morning, I sold a Moen tub/shower kit to replace my Delta set.
I purchased it years ago and finally got around to doing the replacement when I learned - woops! - A Moen cannot replace a Delta.
So I put it up on Ebay and it sold
If I wasn’t a comic seller, all I could think of was that I need only a few of these type of mistakes to get socked with a $600 1099 in '26. Makes as much sense as watering a rock.
And No, the answer/response should not be “well, you should have kept the receipt” from years and years ago like some noodniks claim
clearly he sells Mark Spears books. He is the dude who kept commenting on multiple sites about them being so amazing and rare.
