For every win there is also a loss. It’s how it is.
I talked to a shop owner over the weekend and he said he ordered 50 copies and was being sent 8. He’s going to raffle them off, $1 per ticket.
Are they doing so for charity? Or for profit.
State laws can be very strict in how a raffle is organized.
Thank you for the heads up on Toss Comics. I went ahead and ordered a set off them. It’s my first order with them- hopefully it’ll all be ok.
Interesting, I searched raffles in Texas as I was curious, here are the only qualifications to run a raffle:
Who may conduct raffles?
(Charitable Raffles and Casino/Poker Nights | Office of the Attorney General)
Only a qualified religious society that has been in existence in Texas for at least 10 years; a qualified volunteer fire department that operates firefighting equipment, provides fire-fighting services and that does not pay its members other than nominal compensation; a qualified volunteer emergency medical service that does not pay its members other than nominal compensation; or a qualified 501© tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that has been in existence for at least three years may hold raffles in Texas under CREA. Individuals and for profit businesses may not hold raffles.

See? That’s what I’ve been saying. BOOM either didn’t have a lawyer look into this or just went ahead and did it in spite of the lawyer’s advice. Seems thrown together.

I think they get around it since it’s not really a “raffle” per se that they’re doing. Buy two, get something free while supplies last. I see stores do this type of thing all the time. The problem I have is, they don’t have restrictions in place that prevented retailers from doing whatever they wanted. Any shop can just claim “sorry, supplies are out” yet they listed them on eBay to sell… or like some others have done, send them off to get graded, you have to buy the slab and you get the two comics you’re suppose to buy are free… it’s like they reversed the rules.
BOOM! is just a bunch of bullshit… gonna say it so much, when you look up BOOM! on google, first thing that comes up is a picture of some BULLSHIT out in a field…

I think some people (myself including) were snagging the Nocterra 1 2nd print. It seems to be sold out everywhere right now but it can be reordered through diamond (or whoever the distributor is) currently. I asked my LCS owner and was surprised. I had him snag me 10 more copies to stash away.

Yes, it’s official. And there’s also a 2nd print Mico Suayan store variant .
I feel like absolutely no one will buy this so this is the one to buy…probably…not.

Not sure. I bought raw copies of the first print but only 2… Much less than ASM 55.
I just didn’t like the 1st print too much. Maybe it was the white eye on carnage and then all that red.
Anyway… Think I’m gonna get the second print slabbed. I think it looks much better than the first. And will also be buying a handful of raw copies.
