Batgirl movie

Not stuck. Just another book for the permanent pc collection…or books if you have multiples.

I’m still just surprised. I feel bad for everyone who worked on the movie.

Apparently, by not releasing the movie it turns into a better money-maker via a tax write-off than dumping it on a streaming service. Hm.

I want my Keaton Batman appearances, dammit!

So, we’ve got our corporate regime change making their mark. I hope the decisions they make with Alan Horn et al have positive outcomes.

I never imagined since I joined that Grace would ever be posted as a source in this forum. Lol.

Aquaman being shelved is VERY UNLIKELY. The Flash will depend on how WBD and Miller will handle the accusations thrown at him. It’s 50/50 since Flash has been to multiple test screenings and it’s getting mostly positive reactions and it’s too expensive of a movie to just dump off.

The change of admin every 2-3 years and large debt also contributed to this mess we’re seeing.

As a DC fan, it’s a depressing day. 🥲

Not sure which is worse. It’s true, though.

If I didnt watched the show, Id swear that was a Star Wars DOOM PATROL knockoff

Couldn’t they just sell me the rights to the Batgirl movie for a $1 and still claim a $69,999,999 loss on taxes?

While the movie may have stunk, this cover is out today, and damn. DC with some amazing covers out today.

I love how artists were posting their Batgirl arts when the shocking news broke.

It’s a huge disappointment to those who spent months working on this. I’m sad for them.

Don’t be, they still got paid. It’s usually the actors who are the most sad, the people working behind the scenes don’t usually give two flying F’s, they’re likely already onto the next show or movie set.

I used to date a girl who’s family was in the film industry. Her father was an award winning sound guy, her brother owned a big special effects company (he died a few years ago, on set, while filming Titans. It was reported here first via Alana), and my ex was also into set building and special effects. They all took great pride in the movies and shows they worked on. Anecdotal, yes, but from my time around those movie people, they take just as much pride in their work as most of us do, and they would be disappointed to some degree if their work wasn’t seen by the public as it was intended to be. :beers:

Ive read that the Batgirl Movies budget had ballooned to $90M. If they were to release it theatrically, id imagine they would probably be spending another $50M in promotion and advertising. By scrapping it, they save themselves from having to spend on advertising and promotion. This factor weighed in on the decision to scrap it, imo.

I’m shocked that it’s not being put on HBO Max. It should be ur dumping ground for non theatrical releases. might grab some subscriptions out of it.

My ex wife works now in the industry. Some might take pride if their work is not seen but most don’t give two shits, they got paid and normally off on the next movie or show. So many shows get shelved and never seen, so it’s very common.
