I would hope it was sent with registered mail with $40,000 insurance. USPS having to pay that out will definitely help it get found.
Thats what I told him
I think he just did priority with tracking. He says it showed in the sytem that CGC got it. So who knows.
It doesn’t absolve CGC from f’ing up, but yeah, $40k is definitely “submit in person” level.
Agree 100%… I get jumpy with an order worth around $1,000…
Have 10 copies being delivered today. Wasn’t going to buy any but finally broke down. Hopefully I’ll get my money back.
Never ordered via Third Eye and purchased that Blind Bag bundle mentioned on here. I’ll consider them for new comics/preorders once received given the TFAW situation.
Does Third Eye ship fairly quickly, reliably? Haven’t heard a thing yet on the Blind Bags so just curious. Not being impatient, just wasn’t sure what others have experienced with them.
They do ship fairly quickly, they have a whole shipping department, like a legit warehouse. Hit them up at info@thirdeyecomics.com if you have any questions
The most I have ever shipped to CGC had a fair market value of 8k. Fully insured, registered mail. I didn’t under insure, so I was covered, but I was still very apprehensive. I usually would drop off at shows because sending through the mail can be risky. This was back when CGC wasn’t as lack luster as it is today. I guess if those books were going to be for re-sale, CGC just made things easier for your c0-worker…if he insured properly. Still, CGC just keeps stepping in their own mess far too often.
Although not a Battle Beast Blind Bag, this is a Veefriends Blind Bag story.
Bought 2 earlier this month. Opened the bags. Got both regular non-variant comics; but both were damaged significantly.
I wrote them and sent pics of the damage on both comics and they sent me 2 new blind bag replacements.
Opened both replacements up and Woo Hoo! - both are the holofoil editions (1 of 99). Talk about strange odds that 2 in a row had the same variant with a 3.3% chance of each. I guess they didn’t “shuffle the cards” very well
When he told me about it, I asked him all the questions. And at the end I told him “you’re a dumbass” in Red’s voice from that 70s show.
I opened one bag a shop pulled for me. Got cover B. Yeah.
Another shop has two other blind bags for me. I’ll rip them and see what happens too.
Finally open 4 of my 8. So far, one cover A, one blank, one foil #2, and one MTU reprint.
I ended up spending $68 on blind bags for the 20 I got. I have been able to sell off the extras (including some of the regular covers) and have about broken even.
Sounds like they are holding back on the 1-99s. Whether that’s intentional or they “forgot” to put feather them “randomly” into the regular stock.
I did a Charlie Bucket and only bought 2. Sold the “not-so ultra rare” issue #2 for $14 and pretty much broke even after all taxes and fees.
Can’t complain. It was fun.
Just got my 100 blind bags from DCBS for $239 plus shipping. Now what am i going to do with these book?
I’ve not been able to move my single copy of the Invincible foil reprint that’s a firm 9.8 candidate for $16. So, you may be stuck with a whole bunch of copies.
Or just batch them in groups of 10 to see if people still want them unopened.
Open them…
