Black Friday finds

Hey all! Most shops have some great sales this week. Let’s see what you score this year!

Sadly, most of my local shops have announced their deals, and they aren’t super great.

Also, any online deals CHU-sers should know about?

Temporarily out of stock online. Hope it comes back, but it doesn’t ship until June.
John Byrne’s X-Men Elsewhen, signed:

They also have Frank Miller’s autobiography available signed, but likewise, it won’t ship until next summer.

Damn… been waiting for this. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

$75 for 5 comics…?

This is their answer to the image stocking stuffer…instead of paying $20 for 1 comic, you are lured in to buying 5 at $15 each.

I would also expect lots of spine ticks and color rub…highly doubt they’ll put any extra care into these…

Ugh. $75

Blind Bags are taking over Black Friday, yah!

I said that with immense sarcasm.

Here are my Black Friday finds.

First, hit up a 25 cent sale last night and spent $5 picking up a bunch of old Chaos books and other 90’s Bad Girl stuff.

Hit two sales today. First up $2 grabs.
First Weird War Tales. Sells in 3.0 for around $100 for $2 I could not pass.

I like Charlton horror books and will buy them cheap

Dell Ghost stories for $2 each

Some 10 cent My Greatest Adventures for $2 each.

More low grade DC silver for $2 each

Now off to a 70% off sale at a store about an hour from me. This is where I grab a lot of stuff to sell. Was very disappointed that their IDW GI Joe’s were wiped out. I bought a ton last year but left a ton there.

Apparently this series is doing well

So I bought every copy of #1 at $1.50 each after discount.

Also got every copy of issue #2 for $1.50 each

And some other Geigers for cheap.

This one was $1.80

Some Mora covers for $1.80, sod my last copy of this one a week ago for $15.

Grabbed every copy of Sonic for $1.50-$180

Conan (Titan series) 1, 4, 5 for $1.50-$1.80 each

Mr. and Mrs. X for $1.50 each

More Mora and Junkyard Joe’s for $1.50

I don’t normally mess with Zenoscope books but this is limited to 75 copies, was a Diamond Retailer variant and was cheap. I am sure I can make a few bucks on it.

This Dave Stevens was $3, its a keeper

Got these for $4, any time I can get cheap 10-15 centers I will grab them

This was 20% off cover, last copy

And finally, these SDCC variants were $1.80 each

And that was a wrap. Spent about $125 total today of my $300 budget.

Amazing finds. I’ve been picking up Geiger and Junkyard Joes for a while now and have sold them as sets. They moved very quickly for me but I think they have gone up even more now that they’re a little more scarce.

Geiger for a buck? Pick it up!

I picked these up between Wed & Friday. None were Black Friday sales.

Only the Geiger 80 pg was more than cover (paid $12).

I did have a Black Friday loss…I brought a Mr & Mrs X #12 to the counter and I wasn’t paying too close attention…for some reason the clerk didn’t add it into my total…nor put it on my bag…it was $4, sells for $30….really pissed about it…

But overall even without a BF deal(s) did well for the little I picked up.

My stockpile.

There doesn’t seem to be any copies of cover 2B (Junkyard Joe cover) on eBay or Mercari.

Going to float a copy out there to see what happens…

Going through the books I grabbed from the quarter bin sale I was pleasantly surprised that I grabbed these. Even though I didn’t remember.

Last sale of Junkyard Joe 4 was $20 and same with the shattered glass II #1

Junkyard Joe was in interesting berries in terms of the production. There were a great deal of covers for each issue for a bit of an unknown title vat the time. Many aren’t easy to find now.

Of the 8 issues I’ve sold in the past week, 7 have been variant covers.

I did list the A covers about $5 higher as I thought like every other book these days Cover A is king…but this series may buck the trend a bit. I may have to drop the price on A covers.

Lots of snow here in Minnesota today, so sadly, I didn’t get out to any shops. I did hit one on Black Friday, as they had their dollar books at 50 cents. And, they have a TON of them. Hopefully the snow slows and the roads are better tomorrow so I can get out to another shop or two. They did have a Abs Bat 12A and 14 Harley at cover, so I grabbed those as well.

Found a few sellers. RWBY books are still selling. These are all far from NM, but worth a try at 50 cents. Conan 3 sketch is a really hard one to find.

A bunch of newer Ice Cream Man issues for 50 cents. Most will go in the collection. I usually bundle up dupes into groups of 4-6, and they seem to sell.

More randoms to take a chance on for 50 cents.

And, this Planet of Vampires is just a super cool 1975 cover.

Like I said I don’t normally mess with Zenescope. But paid $3 and took a best offer for $28. Had listed for $30. Sold in about 1 hour.

The only book I knew ever sold was the issues that were only found in Walmart comic packs (issue 7). Do other RWBY books sell?

I kept a copy of 7B for nostalgia as I sold so many copies they were so easy to find…it was only a $20 book by the time I was on my last copy. Probably should flip it if it’s going for this much.

Side note: what’s up with this recalled crap? The issue was released digitally….the printed copies just didn’t get released…the rest of the series was print and digital.

It may have had something to do with COVID and Diamond distribution being suspended, as digitally it came out in February of 2020.

Looks like print issues came out weeks, if not months, after the digital release.

It’s not rare either…many of us were finding copies and flipping them….one of the few fun times during those first few covid months…
