Rare is a poor choice of wording here… I’m willing to bet many of these books are Diamond returns that were once open to retailers for cover price or less.
However if they were full of Sonic 1:25s I would be buying them…

Not really that new right? At least this marketing format of putting books in bags and selling at discounts, probably as long as I’ve been alive.
Yeah, history shows most ratios from indie books, especially Image will drop in value over time. The only time they shoot up is if it’s a #1 ratio that takes off due to popularity or movie (those are brief too).
When my LCS was getting most ratios and setting out for cover price, I would always grab the Image ones and just sell immediately for the $10-$30 they were commanding at release time. The ones I couldn’t sell or didn’t sell for some reason, I couldn’t even give away weeks, months or years later.

I am going to invest in selling all my bad spec books in blind bags 1:50 will have an actual book worth money.

You don’t even have to put in anything special. Just giving people “hope” they might get something good is all that’s required for the masses to spend money on your utter shit… 
I will still guarantee “all copies 100% not bathroom read” but we know it will be a lie.

Of course they do. I sometimes seriously doubt if they even other printing ratios based on the actual number of pre-orders. I’m sure they’re just putting in the orders with the printer company and have to specify X amount regardless of what the regular totals are. Ratios are likely not true ratios because it always seems like there’s more dug up after the fact…

He misses more than wins… the only reason we talk about Kirkman is because of his fame with Walking Dead… I don’t even think Invincible would be as big if Walking Dead didn’t turn out so popular for a bit there… Overall, he’s not a good writer IMHO.

Yeah, I’d agree with that… Good ideas, poorly executed after the fact. He should just run a think tank for ideas but then get other writers to take the reigns from that point on…

Also McFarlane shouldn’t well. As much as I like Todd he is more the idea guy.
Kirkman has written a number of stories I quite liked and him having two massive successes definitely earns respect and intrigues me when he has something new coming out. I wonder if Terminal will be something I love but others hate (Irredeemable Ant Man), something people love but I’m indifferent towards (The Walking Dead), Something people love and I enjoy (Invincible) or just a big flop everyone shrugs at (Firepower).
Brought Transformers and GI Joe back into relevance with Void Rivals.

Honestly, I can say the same. I might like the story but then the writing isn’t the greatest. I guess this just falls in line with… great ideas, poor execution with him writing.
I’m not so intrigued now when he attaches his name to something. He’s got the upper hand being an exec now at Image along with his Walking Dead fame following him around…
If it wasn’t for someone at Image that told him to change the title for Walking Dead that he was originally going to call, Night of the Living Dead (since it’s public domain title), we might not even have anything to talk about when it comes to Kirkman as I think that’s what saved his comic book career… I truly believe if Image put out Walking Dead with the other title, it would have been DOA since it wouldn’t have made it more unique in it’s own sense of story and attracting new readers.
