No… cause retailers act like consumers… “oh, look, new printing, I must HAVE IT NOW!”
My shop still had over a 100 copies of BRZRKR #1. I’m not sure about the rest of you all but as a person running a business, I wouldn’t order any additional prints until I sold all the first printings. I would only buy an additional print based on actual consumer pre-orders, so there would be zero shelf copies until all the first printings were sold.
I like some of their comics too but these tactics are sort of what happened back in the 90s… it created a poisoned comic industry that took how many years to correct itself and start putting out quality content again? These tactics scare me when they’re playing games…
Some of the standard covers of BZRKR #1 are actually doing well. The A and B cover. Check out what they are going for. People get hip to it and may start wiping them out.
Probably. I have no idea. I really haven’t been paying any attention to DC since Future State. If the first print was what I was supposed to flip this week, I missed that, too.
Correct. This is a false sense of flooring beneath our feet. IMO prices have risen too fast due to false demand, speculators, and generally new collectors who are not educated in comic collecting and pricing. Reminds me of the pre dot-com era of stock trading before the bubble popped.
